Anyone else have those massive body twitches right before they fall asleep?

With or without a female on top?

Seriously, yeah. Funny thing but I seem to sleep better the nights that happens. Probably relaxes your muscles more.

What's up with those. You're getting all relaxed, settled into bed, and just to that point between consciousness and sleep when all of the sudden your body does this big spasm thing out of the blue jolting you awake.

I have that happen every now and then, and my fiancee does it from time to time as well. Is this some kind of primal response back from when we could have been cave bear dinner if we fell asleep in the wrong place?

It might be because you have too much sexual energy stored up. Only one way to solve this problem.😉

BUST OUT THE CHAMPAIGN GLASSES and the MOFO CONDOMS!

I think I get them all the time, but I'm not sure... like when I have the shivers and I'll shiver and then have a really big jolt. It useda happen before soccer too when I was getting psyched up. Dunno, maybe they are 2 seperate occurances or many different things occuring with the same end result. I don't think it happens to me very often [conciously] at bedtime though, I'm known to be a very deep and quiet sleeper.

yea same here. i kicked my last GF so hard once it left a bruse

My fiance does it to the extreme...The scary part is she can do it a little before the total sleep stage, like maybe shes just tired and then all of a sudden she is spasming all over the place. I can see her arms fly and her wrists and fingers all contracting. Then she might look like she just had an electric shock from a defibulator (sp?) sometimes. Shes never seen me twitch, but reading this thread I guess I am the weird one after all...

Happens when I try to move in a dream, then smash my head on the wall. feels great, and I am always wide awake after that 😛

lol... sometimes i fall asleep thinking about basketball, and i'll try to jump while laying down and kick my bedframe, realize that i'm sleeping, and fall asleep again, hehehe

I'm gonna have to agree with the theory that it is because of an old instinct that bears might eat us. That seems the most plausible answer
