anyone else have the state sponsored pandemic flu commercials

Never seen one, what state are we talking about?

Connecticut. I was also in a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol office last week and they had 2 large posters explaining what precautions to take for them and their families.

Considering the last major pandemic was only 90 years ago, I dont think it's unreasonable. In 1918-1919 over 50% of the WORLD'S population got sick. somewhere between 20-40 million died. That is a pretty significant threat.

Watch when the pandemic happens people will scream, "Why weren't we warned", "Why weren't we told to prepare"

"only" 90 years ago?

20-40million died because the healthcare system back then consisted of enemas and chicken soup.

That was before anyone ever heard of Popeye and how strong spinach can make a person.

I liked the segment on colbert last night. He was showing all the media hype about it. One had a skull and crossbones claiming it was the worst thing since the black death !
LOL

At least we aren't as bad as japan. They are using thermal cameras on the public to pick out people that are running a fever. Imagine walking down the street and a police officer walks up, sir , you are infected, come with us !

I didn't catch that. Its interesting tho.

Perhaps someone with inside knowledge knew this was going to happen because this is really a premeditated biological terrorism attack on the infidels.

poster I saw in U.S. customs office in January

http://www.ndu.edu/ctnsp/life_...dyou%20Big%20Final.pdf

highlights:

How long would an H5N1 pandemic last?
An H5N1 pandemic would probably come in waves. In each wave about 1/4 of the population could be infected.
People who become ill in the first wave could also become sick in later waves. Each wave could last about 8-12
weeks, and the period between waves could vary between 8-20 weeks. Most likely, an H5N1 pandemic would have
at least three waves and could last for over 12 months.

Many scientists think
the H5N1 virus is showing signs of becoming a pandemic flu virus, though they are not certain when an H5N1
pandemic might start. Before it reaches the U.S. there will be national and international media reports of the initial
cases of pandemic flu. If a pandemic reaches the U.S., an announcement will be made on television, in newspapers,
on the Internet or the radio.
DONE
What will happen if a flu pandemic occurs in the U.S.?
A flu pandemic would spread across the U.S. within weeks and could cause:
¦ Disease in large numbers of people (up to 25% of the population).
¦ Potential deaths in all age groups.
¦ Significant pressure and disruption to all health services.
¦ Potential disruption to all aspects of daily life.
¦ Possible emergency measures that will affect the entire nation.

Limited supplies of an antiviral
drug called Oseltamivir (Tamiflu®) are being stockpiled,
but its effectiveness in a pandemic will not be known
until H5N1 is more widespread in humans.
Antiviral drugs for treatment of H5N1 have several
limitations:

¦ Treatment must begin no later than two days after
symptoms start. Full treatment lasts for five days.
¦ Over time, the drugs may become ineffective against
H5N1 as it mutates.

¦ There may not be enough drugs to treat everyone.
