Diffinetly getting there. I work on a computer about 60hrs a week, then spend a few more hours outside of work on a computer, either editing photos or playing games. And I'm only 23. Not to mention, my ears ring all the time, and have for 5 years now. I don't recommend mowing 18 lawns a week with a CD player at full volume.

Woot!

No, surprisingly I've had no problems with my wrists. I've been a heavy PC user since 12 or so (24 now). I'm on a keyboard/mouse 45 hours/wk at work. I use the PC at home another 25 hrs/wk but most of that time is watching videos and such. Not too much games these days either.

Per the suggestion of the safety/health people at work, I have since lowered my keyboard at work and home so it lays flat on the desk. I thought I'd not like using it that way but I got used to it right away. I have those little cushy things for kb+mouse at work too.

I'm surprised my horrible posture all day has not caused back or other problems either. I suppose keeping at this rate though I'll eventually see it.

I had symptoms of it once but not actually serious and it was ephemeral. had a bruise on my upper forearm which inflamed inwards, not outwards (black and blue visible under skin). it pressed on my nerves going from that point to my hand.

Nope. I've been using an ergonomic keyboard since forever though.

If I rotate my right wrist (mouse hand), it definitely feels a bit less...normal than my left. Then again, I do everything ;) with my right wrist

Had symptoms during high school, wore braces for a few months and it greatly diminished. I wake up sometimes with numb upper arms at night still.

I had never been officially diagnosed, but I experienced chronic wrist pain back in the days that I had a desk job and played a shitload of FPS in my spare time.

I got myself one of these with great success. Now, I'm not at the PC so much so I don't need it. I currently use a logitech G5.

That vertical mouse worked fine for FPS, for what it's worth...

I tried that thing. I couldn't get used to it. My co-workers are happy with their 45 degree tilted microsoft mice. I still didn't like it. I went with a Logitech that was large enough to fit my hand. I don't have enormous hands by any stretch, but those narrow-assed oem mice are hell.

I generally need to get the ergonomics better though. My desk surface is too high, but I hate keyboard trays. Chair sucks ass, etc, etc...thankfully I'm moving to another work area soon.

I should try a trackball one of these days.

Most likely, yes.

I think fps are hell on the wrist, I'm sure it was a contributing factor in my pain I had.

trying to change my posture, usage, etc, but the doc says the only way is to stop doing whatever i am doing (my job/work) - unfortunately.
That sounds silly. He says that it will go away if you stop what you're doing? You can "stop what you're doing" while at work via sufficient posture changes and usage!

i switch hit mousing. when i used to play fps i used to get a bit sore. i sorta hold mice at an angle like those tilt mice...so i guess thats ergonomic as well. also got a splitty kb g9/revolution. no longer use wrist rests, those just put pressure on the wrist. just keep wrist in the right position from seating and hand position and only rest the side of the palm on the desk.

once i did enough internet searches to figure out what I had, I decided against going to see the doc about it b/c the lump itself didn't hurt and everything i read said the doctor won't do anything initially but tell you to wait and see if it goes away, which it did after a couple weeks.
havent had one since, but when I've done push ups (rare), i've done knuckle pushups which aren't as hard on my wrists

So I tried doing pushups for the first time in a while today....it sucked hardcore. I got through 8 before the pain went from the base of my palms to halfway up my arm.

GRRR.....I don't want to have to deal with this.

Sometimes after a long session of fragging online or multitabling p*. At work I do have a keyboard wrist pad? thingy and a get wrist pad for my mouse hand. It was part of a mousepad but I ripped that part off. I might start taking extra precautions though. Anything to keep from messing up my fapping.

My algorithms professor recently had the snip snip, the other hand is next.

I have had problems in the past, but wearing braces at night fixed it.

Not yet. Probably helps that I have an ergo keyboard. I also tend to stretch out once in a while. I'm rarely at the PC for more then a single hour without at least getting up for 2 minutes, walking somewhere, and coming back. Hopefully it never becomes an issue for me.

The braces fixed the really bad pain I was having every day but apparently not for strenuous stuff. I'm also on a fairly high dose of Tylenol every day...

My doc actually specializes in sports medicine, so maybe he will have other options besides surgery.

Too much fapping huh?

I will make a point to ask my doc about it. He hates it when I do stuff like that...so I always do. He got mildly uncomfortable when I asked him if I was healthy enough to have intercourse.

Well....the commercial told me to ask him :D
