I don't know about you guys but this RAM has me boggled. I have 2x512 sticks of these things and I had to drop my FSB on my 1.6a to 130 from 138 ::grumble::. Though they're running fine on regular SPD settings, I'm really afraid to touch them because it always results in a crash of some sort. When I tried to build another computer using Gigabyte's GA-8SQ800 mobo, it wouldn't even give me system beeps, I had to install a generic piece of RAM first. I don't know why low latency RAM causes more problems than its worth in speed. To make it even worse (now that I think about it), it's made my computer slower than when I just had one stick of generic DDR333 512mb. Does anyone else have these kind of problems with this kind or any other kind of RAM? What RAM should I get now?

What speed of memory is it? pc3200? pc3000? Did you change the memory multiplier in the bios? If you have to back down your fsb, then you are probably running the memory faster than it can handle. Change either your fsb or the multiplier so that it runs at its rated speed. (Your 1.6a should be able to go past 138 fsb)

HyperX has been great for me. I would check out the memory divider to make sure you're not running it at a speed higher than its rated for.

I had issues with it on my A7N8X Deluxe mobo. Blank Screen. Had to use slower, but trusted ol' Samsung instead.

I'm running 2/256 sticks of HyperX PC2700 in a Abit NF7-S mobo with a XP 2800(barton) & ATI 9700 pro...for the most part it runs great..however...i do get occational memory address errors in C&C Generals when playing 8 player maps...EAgames always points the finger elsewhere when there games mis-behave....I have not yet been able to determine what is to blame, the memory or the game. Memory is a bit too expensive to be going out and just arbitrarialy replace it everytime your system mis-behaves. I do sometimes wonder if I should have gone with the PC3200 instead although I'm conviced that for basic system stability your better off running your memory syc. with the fsb..which makes PC2700 the right match for a Barton core processor.
