LMAO, this is what you dream about?

He didn't ask if you always dream about it, he asked if you ever dream about it. I guess you always dream about the same thing? (probably spiders)

I dropped out of school (the U) a few times but I eventually got my degree. I'm very glad I did. School looks a lot different if you've been gone for a while. I don't necessarily recommend doing it the way I did, though. It was just the times and the place. You'd of had to be there.

Anyone else ever have such dreams?

Hey, I've been out of school for decades and I still get those dreams once in a while. I think it's universal, or nearly so. Aren't you glad when you wake up and realize it was only a dream?

When I was in college, I would frequently have a dream in which I would realize I had to take a test for a class I had completey forgotten about.

I still get that exact same dream once in a while, and like I said, it's been decades.

It's a goddamn epidemic. Are there any other collective unconscious dreams (really nightmares, because these really are nightmares) in our society or is it only about school? I guess school is really about the scariest thing. I was terrified of doing badly academically. I think it was instilled by my father. I'm not sure there's a cure. I still feel like I have to study like a bitch. I'm a computer programmer, and it's like a full time job keeping up with all the developments and changes. I bet it wasn't this way 150 years ago... you had other things to terrify you, like getting TB, pneumonia, polio, small pox or some other miserable fever, or fighting a duel or the civil war...

Pop up every year or so for some reason.

it's really weird.

I have similar dreams, like, I don't know my schedule and I'm worried about it, walking along precarious stairwells, like they knocked the walls out. Or, my HS is somehow a strange waterside boarding school where I'm carrying stuff and not sure where to put it and keep going through these communal residential buildings where there are no doors. I graduated in 1996.

The clincher for me is that it's always forgetting my locker combination; mind you I only used a locker my Freshman year - Sophomore through Sr. years I was at a private school.

My private high school and my wife's private high school both had lockers (before we met, in two different cities).

Where did you keep your stuff at your private high school?

I often (more times than I'd like) have dreams about forgetting I have a class at a certain day/time and continually not going, and then having to take a test in that class.

I heard somewhere that dreams about school / missing classes are incredibly common.

same... our lockers were bigger than public school lockers too :p

I was like 225 in high school and I probably could have fit inside my locker if it was empty.

I never went to college. I have dreams that I am back in high school for some reason, because I missed some class and have to come back and finish it, so there I am, sitting back in high school.

Same and 1994. I also get ones where the school has discovered I failed a class and have to go back and repeat it NOW at 33.

lol, I don't have dreams like that. Unfortunately I did actually miss a final exam once, professor wouldn't let me make it up or anything... Had to retake the class, grrr.

OK, cool... I was beginning to wonder (seriously) if there was anybody who went to college and graduated and doesn't get those dreams (nightmares!).

Edit: I bet you didn't miss the final because you'd forgotten to take it. You just couldn't for some reason.

School's a bitch. When I was in high school I just wanted to get beyond it and forget the whole thing. However, my focus was on getting into a good university (I only applied to one and was accepted). Once in the university I thought it was so much cooler than high school. You could pick your own classes, pick which times/professors you wanted, pick your TA's/times, labs, etc. Nobody was taking attendance, you were largely responsible for yourself was the difference. There were a lot of classes I had to take but there were a lot of electives and you could pick classes of interest to you. It was an opportunity to broaden my horizons. However, I still have those dreams occasionally, and they are disturbing (moreso when you are asleep, of course).
