anyone else have an SMP setup this old???/

Well for Windows to recognize both CPUs it would have to be at least a NT based version so I am going to guess Win2k for the OS. As for something older, I have a dual P2 400 that still works. Granted, I have it in pieces right now.
 
Since my new C400 replaced my beloved C2D machine, I've become very, very fond of P3s. Excellent little processors. Too bad you can't throw two in a laptop. 🙂

Tyan S1668-D with (2) 200MHz Pentium Pro 200 (1MB cache!) with 256MB Burst EDO ECC ram! Windows NT SP6. DPT Millennium SCSI RAID with 9 9.1GB Cheetah hard drives in RAID5. It has more miles on it than the Hubble Telescope and still works!
 
I had an old Abit BP6 (if you look, I think that my first AT post was about it) with dual 333@550 celerons. That was pretty old school. Think I threw that board out earlier this year...up to that point I HAD been using it quiet a bit....

Yep, that is 8 P3 550's....it's a tank of a machine, but I have a hard time getting rid of it, because the damn thing will run forever. We had 400+ days of uptime at one point. only 53 right now though (need to hook the UPS up to it again)
 
I still have a Compaq Proliant 1600 running at work. It's from 1998 or 97 I am not sure.
I think there is 2 P2 400 in it...

PS The truly sad part is it has outlived many other servers (especially Dells). I miss the days where Enterprise Grade actually means Enterprise Grade.
 
I still use a Gateway dual P2-400 machine as a fileserver running W2K Server. It was free and has never given me an ounce of trouble.

I had a Dual Pentium Pro 180 system with 256MB ECC EDO DIMMs a FireGL pci video card and about 30GB's of SCSI drives on it. It lasted me a good 5 years before I sold it to someone.

I had the same but with 2 400's@575 (95 FSB, one of the cellys wouldn't run @ 600), 512mb RAM, 2 80gb HDs & an 8mb ATI card, running Win2k. I used it as a "NFS" type box for keeping back up copies of mp3s, data, old game & other misc files up until 2005 or so (it wasn't running 24/7), when I finally decided to use the case for something else (system was still going strong). I think people had some issues running XP on the BP6 - I wonder if anyone ever bothered to get it to work?
