Anyone else have all 3 next gen consoles?

I do. But then I also bought a $4K computer on a $13/hr job and a $2K home theatre system on the same job so I'm not the norm.

Sold your Wii to get a PS3!? Yes you count. But why would you sell your Wii to get a PS3? I use my PS3 mainly as a Blu-Ray player, it was a dirt cheap Blu-Ray player when it came out and it played all the PS2 and PS1 games plus the promise of all the PS3 games but the Wii is still the better system game wise right now.

I sold it for a few different reasons. I originally bought the Wii for my wife, who is a non-gamer by all definitions. She thought the Wii would help her get into my hobby a bit, and she never even attempted to touch the thing after 2 weeks of owning it. I ended up buying Metriod, played it for a couple of days and got bored with it. So I didn't even turn the system on for a month, then it was unplugged for another month.

So I sold it and bought a PS3. I use the blu-ray player a lot, and there are a ton of PS2 games that I haven't played, so the game library is pretty decent for me 🙂.

EDIT: I've gotten more use out of my PS3 in 3 weeks of owning than I did in 4 months of owning the Wii. So, for me, it was a wise decision.

This thread makes me realize how tiny my e-penis is.

But seriously, this thread is really stupid. Not the question so much as how you think it makes you cool to be so dumb with your money. But I'm sure you've heard it all before.

Bought a 4K what? I'd be impressed if you said that 4K was your yearly Roth IRA deposit, but it's probably something more like rims or a manly equivalent.

They spinnin'... they spinnin'...

I don't have any expenses so I've saved all the rest. Trust me I may throw money around when it comes to my hobbies but I'm not poor when it comes to savings.

meh, when I was in high school I made boat loads of money (worked at circuit city back when they had commission....sweet), and no real bills outside of car insurance and cell phone. So naturally I blew it all on home theater and computer equipment....and I certainly don't regret it. Now I'm 23 and have a nicer HT setup than I should, haha.

to the OP, I only have a PS3. I think the Wii would get old after a half hour, although I might get a 360 some day.

I have all 3. The PS3 is the latest edition to the collection, got it about 2 weeks ago.

Got the Wii last Christmas

Got the 360 the Christmas before that. (both the wii and the 360 were paid for by me, they were gifts to myself).

Eh, when I was in HS i wasted money on stupid crap. Now I wish I had saved since Im done college and thinking about a house.

Some of us already have a house, so it is not "stupid crap" 😉

Well, in retrospect, sure it would be nice to have that money now - but I'm not really behind the curve, other high school kids wasted their money on expensive clothes or a car or something anyway...how many kids actually start saving for their first house when they're in high school?

I'm similar to Blurred Vision.

I have had all 3 systems, but at different times. Got a 360 last summer year to hold me off till I got a PS3.

Got a Wii at launch.

Sold the 360 in the spring cause I wasn't playing it. Sold the Wii early in the fall because I wasn't playing it and got a PS3.

Use it for gaming and blu ray player. Just like him, I get much more use out of it than I ever did the Wii(after the first 2 months).

Did she ever play nintendo as a kid? Have you tried a DS? I unintentionally got my friend's wife hooked on it. It was more a tool to keep her busy when we worked on our cars. She is thoroughly excited with it... and has a better appreciation when he gets engrossed in games.

Sounds like a $4k wang enhancement based on this thread 😱.

I only have 2/3 but I might go grab a Wii this weekend since Mario is supposedly good. That means I'll have to wake up to grab one on Sunday. Which stores usually put them out Sunday mornings? I have these local stores: Toys R Us, Target, Circuit City, Wal-Mart, EB Games and K-Mart (had to include it for completeness sake 😛). I remember Target supposedly putting them out on Sunday morning, but I'm not too sure.

I have all three, bought the Wii for my GF. We play the PS3 more then anything. She loves skate.

Bought at different times, and i am also an old man.

Go with Target, have been able to get 3 there, for various people, since last december. Also if the first one does not have it, ask a worker there if any other stores close do. worked for me on my 3rd one.

I have all 3, but in my defense, the 360 was a XMas gift the year it came out (I have a cousin with more money than brains, and he bought 3 of them for $800 apiece when they launched, one of him, one as a gift for me, and one as a gift for some nephews), so I didn't pay for that one. I bought the Wii for my kids' XMas last year, and we have consistently had at least one title that we can all play and enjoy together as a family, even my wife, who pretty much hates video games. I bought the PS3 for myself, I had scored and sold a PC that I paid maybe $150 building between parts laying around and stuff I bought out of pocket, for $500, and on my way home from dropping it off for the guy, I stopped and picked up a 60GB PS3 at Circuit City with the money. It was the week they had the free controller + 1 free game deal, and I got the 5 free BD movies by mail. Yes, I could have waited, I figured they were going to have a $400 model by Xmas, but I also knew the hardware based PS1/PS2 emulation was a big deal to me, since I never really owned a PS2, and there is this huge backlog of PS2 titles that I wanted to play, especially survival horror stuff like Siren, Haunting Ground, and the various Resident Evil titles.

So yes, I have all 3, much to my wife's disgust. Between the PS3 and 360, I've bought maybe 5 games, there's not a lot that interests me in console gaming, I don't care for sports games, driving games, first person shooters with a gamepad, or pimping my virtual ride for achievement points. But I do get into games like Kameo, Earth Defense Force, Burnout (for the crashing mostly 🙂 ), Rachet and Clank, and all the survival horror titles I missed when they were released originally on the PS2 and XBox 1. I'm a PC gamer at heart, and that's where I spend a good 70% of my gaming time, which isn't much to begin with, but I do like being able to play a game on a console that interests me without having to worry if I have the right platform hardware for it or not. I'm sure this will probably be the only generation of consoles that I will have this option, seeing as it's the only generation where I've owned all the systems.

He bought a $4k computer. There was another thread about it.

I have all 3, but I haven't taken my PS3 out of the box yet.

No, she never played games as a kid, and haven't tried a DS. At this point, I've decided it's a lost cause. She played games on the Wii only when I was playing also, she would never pick it up on her own. The same goes with Guitar Hero right now, she'll only play when I'm playing.....but even then, she's only played GH3 once in the 2 1/2 weeks we've owned it.

She didn't put up too much of a fight at all when I suggested the idea of selling the Wii to buy a PS3.

Just a ps3 but had a 360. I would definitely get another 360 if they integrated the hd-dvd drive.
PS3 will do for now though. Lots of ps2 games and the ps3 titles so far have been as good
as the other consoles.
