first i want to say the 3d capability is another annoying fad that will probably result in tons of hardware failures

second, the 3.5" screen is a joke.. the psp has a 4.3" and the 3ds should have a 5.0" even if it means it's a little bigger

lastly there is ONE analog.. epic fail from sony in the ctrls dept and now from nintendo

and every nintendo fanboi is having a field day "look the 3ds haxx0rs the psp" the joke is on them since the psp is 6 yrs older, will cost half price of the 3ds and will still be a big seller for the holidays for years to come and when the psp2 drops in 2 years, sony might finally win the handheld war

but sony needs to drop the price of the psp2 to be cheaper than nintendo for once.. parents don't care about quality, they want to save $$$

I do not agree that the PSP will outsell the 3DS whenever it comes out. I don't have either but Nintendo knows what they are doing in the handheld market, and I think they'll be fine.

I think it could prove to be somewhat interesting... mostly since they went the smart route not requiring anything silly like glasses. But do we truly need fake 3D on what is still a 2D plane? I'm really not so certain about that. What I hope is that this DS isn't just a pretty new screen and that they've actually enhanced the innards of it so we can see some slightly better (dare I say, PSP quality) games.

One analog stick is fine, as long as you don't expect people to provide apt camera control, which is really what the second one serves as in most cases.

The PSP isn't a bad system, but it hurts from having any smash titles to help sell it. I've found some rather fun games on it, but not everyone enjoys them. I'm kind of surprised they haven't tried to bring a few of the Japanese-only games for it over... especially the ones dealing with anime (that are also available here). There are about 5 Bleach fighting games for the PSP, which could sell decently elsewhere.

The PSP hasn't outsold the DS in a looooong time, if ever. That will never happen.

I'm interested in the resolution, RAM and CPU/GPU bumps not the 3D.

Rumors are that the price will be much more than I'm willing to pay ($250? DS3DGouge!)

I'm not sure I can hate something I haven't even been able to touch.

I thought the wii was stupid when it was announced. It grew on me. It doesn't get much play time but currently neither does the 360 or the ps3.

lets face it the psp sold 60 vs 120 million which is half and great numbers considering it's sony's first attempt at a handheld

but how many of those 120 million pref the DS to the PSP only because it's $50 less (a significant chunk of change)

and when the 3ds comes out, it might sell 500,000 the first year because most parents will still be buying budget DS and PSP ($99 and $129 resp) by the millions

or i could be way off and the 3ds will be sold out for 2 years and they will sell for $500 on ebay if you could find one.

now if sony could release a handheld that is actually better and cheaper, I don't see why the sales won't be tied or to sony's advantage.

I like that the 3DS does not require glasses to view things in 3D although you still have to get your eyes in the "sweet spot" to get it working. Hopefully, this paves the way for glasses-free 3D televisions.

I am excited to play the 3DS, and I love the inclusion of the 3D slider. Like I said in the other thread...

I'm excited for Golden Sun, DQIX, MGS, Batman, Kid Icarus, Paper mario, Resident Evil, Etrian Odyssey, Shin Megami Tensei, Bomberman, Zelda (both Ocarina of Time and new titles), and Starfox 64, so yes.

This is of course assuming a reasonable price for the system.

It also has a slider that you can use to adjust the 3D to level that is comfortable with your eyes or not even use the 3D at all.

The technology used for 3D on the 3DS won't work on TVs unfortunately. The viewing angle is really low, it would require a curved screen, and it doesn't scale up well from what I've read.

Maybe a good first step to newer technology that won't require glasses. One of the big complaints with the PS3 3D is that the glasses tend to make the graphics darker. That and they start at around $150 each.

Use bombs wisely.

Yeah, I can't wait to see this in action. I am wondering though if I should wait for the reboot though. The DS-Lite is nicer than the original DS and the Advance SP was WAY better than the original Advance.

I'm gonna buy it. 3d sucks so i'll probably leave that off but it has very good graphics and an analog stick. Still looks good to me even ignoring 3d.

I'd still rather have a PSP2 that has 2 analogs and can play PS2 games.

I have a PSP, a old DS, 2 ds lights and just got a DsI XL.

the PSP is a good system but nothing to justify the price diffrence. With the DS (excluding the new DSi's) you could play DS games and older Gameboy Advance games. wich is what made the system so attractive to me in the first place.

sure the PSP has a bigger/better screen. but now if people really want that they can get a DSi XL.

The game selection on teh Nintendo DS is far far better then the PSP. but i do admit over all the PSP is a better piece of hardware to bad its just not as supported or have as many features as the DS

we won't even talk about the PSGO lol.

As for the DS 3d im not excited at all. it seems when any company goes with better graphics they sacrifice game play (look at the FF series). but Nintendo has to do something ot keep the cash machine flowing.

heh. OP has been Banned. Guess he really was Casiotech. Nice.

I don't think being Casiotech got him banned, being an obvious troll did. Regardless of if it was a 2nd account this guy tried quite hard to be banned... and banned fast.

I wish they'd ban a lot more people for trolling. :(

I predict a $199.99 pricetag on the 3DS. Nintendo isn't in a position to market a $200+ handheld unit just based on their history in the handheld market. If they do put it over $200, I would be shocked.

A 200+ price point would make the system more expensive than the Wii and dangerously close to ps3 and360 prices.

Nintendo could afford to make the 3DS cheap in order to quickly create a large install base.

Who knows if they will, though.
