Anyone else hate work?

Am I alone in hating my job, no matter what it is? I've been through 3 jobs in 5 months. Recently I gained employment through a company that many would jump at in the IT world. I thought maybe since I landed this gig it would make me hate my job less, but I hate it the same as all my other jobs. I've done all different fields of work, latest being IT (which is what I'm going to school for).

I'm starting to wonder if I'm just depressed, would I even know if I am? All I think about when I wake up is how I do not want to go to work....knowing full well I couldn't ask to work for a better company at this level in my career and I should feel lucky. I worry that any day I'll just wake up and say "forget it" and come up with some excuse to quit.

What are your thoughts? Am I just a whiny cryass, or do others feel the same with their careers/jobs?

You remind me of my ex g/f, who hasn't been happy anywhere she's worked.

Personally, I like my job right now.

Yes, you're the only one who hates work, what's wrong with you?!?!

It can take a long time to find out what kind of job you want to do, or at least enjoy a little.

I would say 'loathe my job' would be more accurate. I am surrounded by bureaucrats who have resigned from the human race. What other form of life puts policy and procedure ahead of the needs of humanity? I am gifted with the ability to put myself in other peoples shoes which is one of the reasons I have been successful in the hospitality field. However, when I attempt to take on the mind set of these lifeless drones, my head hurts and I find myself looking for a clock tower and reaching for an automatic weapon. Make the world a safer place by stomping your local bureaucrat today.

Depends on what kind of work. If its work, most likely its tedious, and if it's tedious, it gets old and boring QUICK.

I like my current and last job, and even my side job, as I see I can mix into the environment quite nicely. Everybody's so busy, nobody really knows what the hell I'm doing or if I'm really working or not, lol. Such lack of discipline and authoritative figures is where I thrive!

My side job is more or less property rental with shuttling service, so I run around a lot and meet many new and interesting people.

I hate being stuck in one place. Will NEVER go back working for a call centre in a cubicle no more.

Not unusual at all. Many people (like me) feel that work is what gets in the way of everything that really matters in life, and as such is a negative entity. On top of that there are so many bad jobs out there that even if you have the potential to like some kind of work somewhere, you may very well never find it.

I hate my "career" field, and I'm not happy at the place I currently work. At my previous job before I moved I knew I wasn't happy with my "career" but at least I liked the place I worked and the friends I had there. Now I don't like the place I work, and I just don't seem to click with the people I've met. So combine that with the fact that I'm tired and burnt out doing this job (I'm a desktop support monkey") and I really hate coming to work. I've gone on a few interviews lately trying to at least find a better place to work. Once I do that, then I need to try finding a better career path that doesn't suck as much as being an IT support monkey.

I think the only jobs I had that I out and out hated were working on an assembly line and working for the base engineers when I was a teenager (weeding, mixing concrete). My actual job in the military was fine, it was the rest of it that sucked :p

"Oh, you hate your job? Why didn't you say so? There's a support group for that. It's called EVERYBODY, and they meet at the bar. "

Personally I love my job and my boss is a really nice guy as well. Still, being away from my 4 month old son sucks. Also, the responsibility of my job is a little irratating at times

I don't like my job right now ... stagnation is the word that describes it best. I'm currently in the early stages of starting a search for something a wee bit more dynamic.
