Anyone else hate Newegg's revised layout?

I know it's been like this for a while. I've even ordered parts since then. But anyway...

I find it more difficult to navigate and I wish they'd return it to the way it was before.

What I hate is that they are constantly changing it. Jesus, pick a format and stick with it. I swear to god, everytime I go back to it its different than the last. Give the webmaster some Ritalin and be done with it already.

I just hate having to look for the "product link. I'm getting used to it though.

I like the current layout ... however, I do think it would be nice if they stopped constantly changing the site around. I liked the old look better as well.

Yea, I should have noted that too. The constant change also really bugs me.

They need to hire someone who knows how to make a decent website. All of their designs have sucked so far. Mainly, they are too cluttered and the functionality gets lost in all the menus.

Agreed, I think it's always looked like a pile of a$$. I thank god I never have to use it (from the UK).
They need to spend money on designers who know how to design, not the ass they have at the moment.

I e-mailed them with the first few suggestions (the old method was less confusing, and the constant changes are bothersome). Here's the response:

Dear John,

Thank you for contacting Newegg.com.

We appreciate your candor and valuable insight. It is certainly not our intent to confuse or frustrate customers so we certainly apologize for any prior inconvenience or unnecessary impediments. You will be seeing a lot of changes to Newegg.com in 2004 so feel free to let us know your thoughts because your comments are always welcome. Many of the redesigned pages will evolve (additional tools and resources, better functionality and graphics, etc.) during the next year but in terms of overall design they should stay relatively the same.

Please note that the current Item Detail layout was developed to increase functionality. The left column provides all of the information you'll need to buy the product, with new rotating (mouse over) product photographs. Down the center is product information; detailed specifications and customer reviews are provided for your convenience. The right column will be utilized exclusively for promotions including free gifts, combo specials, compatible items our purchasing department recommends and items other Newegg shoppers purchased to supplement the primary component. The new layout also does not require you to click on any links and instead utilizes the scroll wheel on your mouse.

I hope this information was helpful. Thanks again for writing and have a pleasant Thursday.

I hate how the Notebook Memory and Notebook Hard Drive sections do not allow searches to be made, like my speed, size, etc.

Other than that the stores are really pointless and distracting...I liked the old layout much better.

Newegg was always really cluttered, what with the vertical stacking and the overdetail. I liked MWave's old design better, but theirs was, and is better than NewEgg's. By far. And I like the store more, too.
