I was selling an LCD on Ebay, and under payment options I specifically said "I accept MO or NON-CC paypal. So the auction ends and I get an email asking for the total, before I could email back I got CC paypal in my account for the total + 20 shipping, which was more than it was going to be. So I email him telling him the price, and that I rejected his cc payment as I cannot accept them. He told me the only way he could pay was by CC and if that was a problem to "cancel my order" Like I am a store or something and I can just cancel his order and be on my merry way. Any of you guys ever have to file a non-paying bidder application before/ know where to get it? Arrrggggh

I'm starting too because I bought something and like three weeks ago and I still haven't received it yet. I'm getting pretty impatient.

That's why you put it in BIG AND BOLD letter 🙂

I never had a problem with Ebay since I signed up in 1998 🙂

it is for theft reasons as well you doof.

By far the simplest method for selling on ebay is using M.O. only.

That's what I did the last round of selling and it was great. I didn't have any problems recieving the money, and no $$ from paypal for the convenience.

Paypal can't be beat for ease of use, and quick draw on getting stuff paid for.....but they do charge a lot.

I've acutally seen some auctions where the seller declares that if you want to use paypal, you will have to pay the fees as well, which I think is bs. Next round of shite I sell on ebay will again be M.O. only.

Almost had to use the non-paying bidder form recently but the guy was sick and respond just as I was about to file one.
He initially paid by cc Paypal, but we worked out the issue and he paid by M.O. So all is well.

If the guy refuses to pay via M.O., I say file the non-paying bidder form. Buyers need to learn how to read.

It can be a pain in the ass. I finally got the payment after two weeks of waiting for the guy to straighten his paypal account out. He then tells me that 5 days for the transit time is too long. WTF.

There's one downside of taking MOs only: you're losing a lot of bidders. What I usually do is giving them discount on shipping if they pay by checks or MOs.

i don't hate ebay because i can sell a lot of stuff there for more than it's worth.

but i hate the stupid people on there. i also accept only MOs or non-cc paypal. Unfortunately, people always decide not to read my auction description and use a CC anyway. so i have to go through the hassle of denying their payment. idjits.

you're a sucker for letting paypal stick it up your ass like that. also if anyone uses a fraudulent CC to pay you, you're screwed, not them.

I had the exact same problem when I sold an LCD monitor. However, I had priced the shipping at $40.00 - and it was only $13.00, so I easily paid for the credit card charges. But, I just wish people would reall *all* of the terms for the auction before bidding.

I thought in that case Paypal is screwed, not the seller. Well, I'm pretty sure they will have some way to take care of that, not just let themselves be screwed...lol

I'm still in love with it and remain amazed
that it can exist mainly on the quality of your references principle :Q

I've been pretty lucky. I've been using eBay for around 4 years, and have had only 1 bad transaction.

You hate ebay because a buyer did not read the details of your auction carefully? Isn't that like hating a public library because someone is late returning a book you want to read?
