anyone else had a really crappy 2010?

Mine was pretty good. Graduated, love my job, nothing big to complain about. Nothing noteworthy in the relationship department, but that's way better than last year.

Ups and downs for me. I also had my heart broken, but the year ended on a couple of high notes.

Getting robbed sucks, but in the scheme of things it's a blip. My high notes were graduating university with excellent grades, getting a great job and moving to a place where I have a lot of friends.

2010 has gone pretty decent for me. i had things worked out just as I expected.

worked 3 months from jan to march
finished a 4000 pieces puzzle in 1 month
relaxed for another month
traveled in asia for 5 months
spent 1 month to recover from traveling too much while waited for jobs to look for me
back to work in dec for a few months before going off again.

I think this year has really sucked for me.
-mother is really ill
-work is not going so well
-dating life is horrible. Got my heart broken by someone I was really into.
-lost a bunch of money gambling

Nothing in general that I'm too happy about that happened in 2010. Hopefully 2011 will be much better. Anyone else had a sucky 2010?

I did it in April, and did it again early December. The second time was because I got tired of doing my combover in the morning. It ain't coming back:0, partly because I'm keeping it short, and partly cause my genes are exterminating the hair follicle population.

For the most part, mine went well. I'm not overly thrilled with my job at the moment, but I'll survive.

Same for me. Pretty average year for me. Certainly nothing compared to the awesome piece of crap my 2009 was.

Not sure how my 2011 is going to turn out. I'm thinking of going into production. I've had a couple people ask if I would be able to do shoots for them. One guy asked if I'd shoot his music video.

I guess 2010 was the first full year I really felt like an adult. I got my job back in 2009, but before that, I was still in school / living at home / etc. Settled into my role at work though in the early part of this year, got put on some nice projects, got to spend 6 weeks in Germany on business, met a lot of cool people, etc.

Personally speaking, it was pretty good too. The GF and I had a rocky 2009, and it seems to have gotten a lot better this year. Have had my own place for a little more than a year now, and the GF will be moving in early next year.. going to be looking at buying a house in 2011. I have high hopes for this new year.

Year actually it was kinda rubbish...

Bad:

- Jobs ive had so far sucked, santander customer service is fail, also i failed at it as they didnt want me after 4 months lol
- New flat im in sucks
- Havent met anyone better than ex, i thought it would take no more than a couple of months, here i am still single 11 months later
- Starcraft 2 has been out for months and the best custom map is still frickin income wars :\
- Sat here by myself on newyears, all my friends are too poor/boring/faraway or a combination of the three to do anything

Good:

- May own my own flat next year
- Doing well with Computing & IT course at open university
- Much fitter and healthier than 2008, continuing 2009's trend
- 5850 still plays games well


Overall 4/10 year

Yup. Especially with reposts. Lemme go find the other 3 or 4 threads with this same subject and I'll link to my old answers.

Actually, fuck it. too lazy to search, just like OP.

Lets see,
1. Didnt lose enough weight. This fact was driven home by a dude in our forum who lost 65 pounds in 4 months. I'm not even close to 65 pounds overweight. Wish I could get his results.
2. Couple girls I liked turned me down and then went out with other guys. Am pretty sure this is directly related to number 1.
3. College is sucking more and more each semester. Idiots coming in from high school and they are so incredibly inept they actually slow down the normal progression of the class. I am getting a sub par education because of all the nonsense. And there have been a couple classes I worked my butt off and only ended up with a C or B. Not acceptable to me given the nature of the material.
4. Still cant find work.
5. My clubs made a bad habit throughout the year of changing times & dates on me. Missed many meetings and events. Both the VFW and Izaak Walton League are run by old guys, so they dont like changing the info online, or emailing people to notify them of changes. But some of the other stuff is run by young people who should be savvy enough to do it from their own cell phones.
6. Now that I am finally the member of two gun clubs I cant afford to shoot as much as I want.
7. Most video games and movies this year did not entertain me. And theaters get worse every year.
8. Almost got killed a number of times on the road cuz cops just dont seem to care about traffic violations any more. So people get bolder and bolder as time goes on. Now they run lights after they've been red for 3 seconds. And usually drive about double the speed limit.
9. Illegals are flat out not scared of Americans any more, at least in this town, and will often intimidate or threaten people. Again, the cops are either unwilling or unable to correct this.
10. Price of everything I use keeps going up, but I did manage to get a barebones plan from Verizon so I can keep using my phone another year. This wouldnt be so bad if not for number 4.

So, out of all those things only a couple are completely under my control. I spent the last year trying many different tactics to make them work for me and have run out of ideas. I dont see how they could get any better during the next year unless some things change outside of my control.


Good news: Regardless of how school goes I will still have my associates degree soon.
Bad news: In this economy a degree from a community college means absolutely nothing. And I cant get in to a good school.
