If it were someone classy like jeter i'd feel sorry for him, but a-rod is one of the biggest non-steroid punks in baseball. Totally deserved.

Colon drilled Arod right in the back of his ribs. 100 miles per hour to the ribs does not feel good. He kind of dropped to the ground, but stayed in the game. What an intense player...

lol, no favoritism there right ? Plenty of players would stay in the game unless it was a joint or their head.

I don't think its fair to pick on A-Rod.
He's a guy who never has been involved with steroids or drugs. He just shows up and plays every day. He may be a cold guy but he does the charity stuff and is a good ambassador for baseball.
Yeah, he got the 250 million dollar contract. Wouldn't you take the 250 mil? So he went to Texas and baseball economics changed and what he thought would be a competitive team wasn't. But he didn't demand a trade or make a big fuss. When Texas saw a chance to unload his salary they did.

Techs, what you said is basically true, but you left out the "ball slapping" incident (linked above) Many many fans (and not just Red Sox fans) won't forget this for a long time.

Here's another pic for the heck of it.

Okay fine, Arod made a mistake in the heat of competition. Other players have done this as well. But his "whaaaat, who meee?" throwing his arms up in the air reaction when he got caught cheating is what made it especially bad.

I don't know, just my opinion. He doesn't seem to fit the "baseball ambassador" roll to me.

I can understand that in the heat of a game. Heck, ever see a football player rip off an opponents helmet and hit him with it? Then he throws his hands up to the ref and goes "what'd I do?"
Football players get caught intentionally fouling, so do hockey and basketball players.
so i don't hold the ball slap against him too much.

You know, there are a lot of annoying Boston fans in this world, but you are by far one of the worst.

A-rod is a great ambassador for baseball. That ball swatting incident was him trying to do everything he could to get a win for his team, while it was a stupid decision I don't think less of him as a human being for doing so. You all probably regard Michael Jordan as a great ambassador for basketball. Then why is it ok that he blatantly pushed Russell out of the way to sink the game winning shot in the NBA finals? It seems to me we just have a bunch of stupid ignorant Red Sox fans here, and nothing more.

Me, stupid and ignorant for stating my opinion, regarding Arod? Did you even read this thread? I stated my opinion maturely, let's recap:

Next, I stated drilling Arod was wrong.

As far as him getting hit in the ribs, no one deserves that.

So obviously my replies in this thread were balanced, well thought-out and not completely anti-Arod. Also, for you to justify the 'ball swatting' incident as him 'just trying to get a win for his team' is wrong. There is no justification for cheating.

For you to include me in your "stupid ignorant Red fans, and nothing more" blanket is well, stupid and ignorant.
