No, we observe that holiday on the day after Thanksgiving (which, knowing my luck, I'll also have to work).

I get the day off, just not on that day. I get a three day weekend next weekend.

No, next paid holiday for us is Thanksgiving and the day after. And IT support still has to be available because there's still people working.

Yes, I have Monday off for the holiday......and Friday as well, as it's my normally scheduled day off (dang, I love flex time!!). Since I only have to take three days off in order to get the whole week, I decided to do so, and am flying home to visit with my Mom. Eighty two years old, and still thinks of me as her little boy, I try to get home as often as I can to visit, while she's still visit-able. :D

This is one of those really stupid holidays that costs a lot of money and should be canned. Its ok for anyone who wants to celebrate it, just don't make companies pick up their tab as well as everyone else's that has no interest in celebrating it.

If it were taken away, people would demand another day off at some point. It's also in a good spot on the calendar.

I'm not working. Thank you military.

I always hated duty on Veteran's Day, especially parades. I mean, I'd rather everyone else had to march past my house while I sat in a lawn chair, ate BBQ and drank beer.

I don't mind ceremonies for Memorial Day though. In my town the kids pick up the expended brass from the blanks fired from the M-1s.

Today I'm getting time and a half at my civilian job. So I don't get Columbus Day off.

Not off but there aren't many people in the office today so I will probably leave a few hours early.
