Is there any way to fix it? Every 5 minutes or so I get about 5 people sending that damn message.

I haven't, but then I tend not to put random retards on my buddy list, and I have messaging from strangers disabled.

It's not my fault that I know girls who are computer illiterate. Oh wait maybe it is.

"hey check out this"

the "this" is a link to some website where im assuming you download some crap and install it. So whoever has this made two damn mistakes.

Your friends are stupid and click on the link. Link installs trojan on their comp. Trojan hijacks AIM to message other people. Kill your friends.

767,846 of those can be circumvented by using a third-party client such as Gaim.

I'm pretty sure it's a virus. I clicked the link and it asked me if I wanted to install something. I said no, but then AVG and MS AntiSpyware said they blocked a trojan from installing.

I haven't.

Then again, the only people I have on AIM are DeviousTrap, another web host that I know, and maybe 4 friends that I've trained very well :p

I primarily use MSN. :)

Oh, and trillian

I've gotten it from 2 people today.

Funny thing is I don't have either name on my buddy list. Didn't even recognize the first one, the second one is someone I only vaguely know through her friends. I was mildly amused that she had me on her buddy list.

i don't get why people even use this bastardized piece of shit. AIM is so ghetto compared to MSN.

its an aim virus spread to everyone on their buddy list; opens up a port on the infected person's computer and sends people the file automatically if they click on it
