Just went to Best Buy and they're up to 30 people already. I came home and told my son either we go now or he won't see one till after Christmas. He said it ain't worth waiting overnight for. I told him I'd go, but not by myself. So he decided to take his chances at the raffle at K-Mart. Guess I'm going to bed...
 
I think my friend got his today. Computer City where he works at got a GRAND TOTAL of THREE, yes (3) units !!! lol

he took 1 (he's in shipping) and other employes grabbed the other 2
lol

no stock on the units till next week for all the people that want em

 
Nice that the clerks are heisting all the product for themselves. Reminds me of when I was looking for the Trinity Matrix figure, the stuff never got out of the stock room.:|

I've been UT the last two nights and both times I hit servers that had to DL the maps to me (cable, w00t!). Try THAT with yer PS2. No mods, no mutators, nuthin' but what's in the box. Bleah.

Did anyone line up for this? I heard some stores did not take preorders so it was on a first-come-first-served basis. It must have been chaotic, just like when Ferbies were hot.
 
Software Etc had four of them on display last night. All these scrubs were drooling over them. Honestly, I could not tell much of a difference between graphics on the PS2 and Dreamcast.

I'll wait for the price to drop and the games to get better.
 
Don't buy it yet. My friend had PS2 since January or so (imported) and the games were nice but didn't blow me away at all. Just wait till there is a larger base of games to choose from. Invest the money or something till then 🙂.

I GOT MINE TODAY!! 🙂 I only paid 318 dollars with a controller. Give it up for aafes tax free! (military store).
 
Hehe waited in a line at 2am in front of target... recieved picketing ticket at 6am.. got in store at 8am.. left target at 845am.. am i tired? yes! do i have class today? YES.... am i sleepy F*** YES~!
 
I may get one next year...in no rush now, since I still like PC games more.

Is it really this good you guys have to camp out for it? I mean damn... its only a console. Those lovely graphics of yours won't be so lovely next year compared to a PC's 1.4 GHZ and crazy vid cards we have while you're with "aged" technology 🙂

Still, for $300 its a damn good buy.

unfortunately, people buy consoles to play games, not to look at pretty graphics. And PS2 has some great games that PC just would never have.

You just got me mad!!! I'll agree that many of it's games are fun, but I have yet in my life to encounter a console game as engaging as Ultima Online, or as action-packed/addictive as Counter-Strike. Until consoles are actually up on the net with high speed (can't do it yet even though it may supposedly be supported) with many players and these consoles have a good interface for 1st person shooters (such as the mouse/keyboard) then PC will still rule in that domain.

And Consoles have never had Role playing games that even come close to PC. Not even close. Some may think that Final Fantasy is a great RPG but anyone who has played games like AD&amp;D for computer or Ultima Online, or everquest will probably agree that FF is just a children's RPG, so linear as to make it tedious to anyone exposed to something better 😛
