WTF?

This is why I hate STEAM. This is going to take all night, even on a 6mbit cable connection.

Am I missing something?
 
Well, you probably are missing something, but getting back to the Steam issue.

I think it sucks too but the company likes it. Which means we'll probably being seeing more services like it in the future. I'm sure all the major players (Id, EA, Sierra) will be using something similar by the end of the decade. Its sorta like Big Brother. It looks over your shoulder whether you want it to or not.
 
I remember on dial up i got over 50kb/s sometimes...and it used to be crazy fast on broadband...but recently its been slow. i dont know why.
