Anyone else get grossed out by some monsters in HL/HL2?

In original HL it was those things that try to jump on your head. Same thing with those gross green slimy things in Duke Nukem 3D that would attach to your face. I was so grossed out by those things that I would use an RPG shell to kill them just to ensure that I didnt have to come anywhere close to them.

Come to think of it, the "face huggers" in aliens grossed me out too. In HL2 those things attached to the ceiling that hang down and grab stuff they touch. Ugh its disgusting. I can deal with demons from hell, headless monsters, zombies, etc. But slimy stuff that tries to eat my face just gives me the heebie jeebies. Am I the only one that thinks this?

I thought HL2's enemies where a bit more plausible and original than most you run into (soldiers/zombies notwithstanding). Regardless, i think they were presented well. Nothing really "freaked me out", so to speak.

the HL2 enemies are far less predictable than in any game I've ever played including D3. Enemies in D3 just lugged around. HL2 enemies pounce on you before you can get a good aim. I'm mostly talking about the alien enemies since the human enemies are kind of slow and stupid.
Some of the aliens, yea freak me out badly. the character models suck though. Wish the enemies had as much detail as the NPCs.

I have those super-zombies, the really fast ones with burnt off skin.
And the evil zombies that just will not die (even after multiple shotgun blasts).
They are annoying and scary when they come launching at you.

That's true. I think the zombies that throw the poisonous headcrabs at you are the only ones that truly made me worry, not just because they were so deadly, but also because they were so damned tough to kill.

Ever noticed the expression on the face of a zombie corpse after you shotgun its little facefocker off? Creepy. Between that and their moaning and shrieking I have to say the zombies are the most evocative. The antlion guard is the toughest I've faced so far, though. Zombies, for all their ICK factor, are fairly straightforward to fight as long as they don't have barrels (explosive ones are worse) to throw.

I haven't played Doom3, so I can't compare them, but HL2 has been really spectacular.

Doom 3's AI is pretty much the same as it was in Doom 1.

Haha barnacles are awesome. They are like organic lifts.

head humpers deserve the crowbar.

*shudder* I won't even get close to them. In HL1 I turned on cheats solely for the purpose of using BIG FVCKING EXPOSIVE GUNS so that i wouldnt have to go near that crap.

Naw, they don't bother me.
I think it's funny to hand the barnacle a can of paint or something else and then just walk on past.

I actually thought the enemies in HL2 were timid looking compared to the ones in Doom3

NO DOUBT. The ones that really freak'ed me out in Doom3 were those half mermaid/half flying baby looking creatures that made that crying sound and ran up to you super fast. That was some hebbie jebbie sh|t!

danny~!
