Seems so may download sites, if all, have fake download buttons that are actually ads. This crap needs to be illegal! Did not fall for it, but my eyes always go for the big button first but I know better that they're usually fake. What's worse is how they make the real one so small and blend in so it's harder to find when you just want something quick.

This one takes the cake though, they even went as far as putting the file information. There seriously should be a law against purposely trying to mislead people. I'm sure lot of people fall for this crap, and it's people like me that end up having to cleanup the spyware or whatever crap they get infected with.

Yes, it annoys me. No, we don't need more stupid laws. People just need to use their brain and LOOK before you click.

Why are you downloading Dell drivers from anywhere but Dell's website?

Hey, dingbat, roll the mouse over the link first so you can see what URL it's directing you to, is today the second day you've tried this internet thing??..

No need to be a total asshole about it, dimwit. I know that, what I'm saying is lot of people probably don't know to do that. And seems lot of download sites redirect all over the place anyway, so you can't always go by that unless it's an adserver you recognize. What ever happened to a simple direct link to an exe/zip/whatever. You just don't see that anymore.

I just think the whole trying to trick people thing is annoying, whether or not it actually worked on me. It still pisses me off that they tried, and it's the fact that practically all sites do it now.

I also hate checked boxes that will install Bing or Registry optimizer crap if you don't really read carefully, and even then, it's misleading. I'm savy with this stuff and still get fooled.

Yup, hate it. It's because they get paid extra for clicked ads and its an easy way to trick people into clicks.

have been burnt a few times, then I learned, not annoyed at all. You see, I don't get annoyed or complain about stuff that I do not pay for.

OK, yea, sorry, it's a pain in the ass for sure, another tactic is to try to get you to install a "download manager" to DL a simple 3 meg driver file. it's almost impossible to get a direct link these days..
