Not sure when this happened, perhaps it was a long time ago and there was a post about it, but I currently have a little over 4.5GB's of space in Gmail.

Wasn't it just under 3 recently?

Yeah, I logged in a few days ago and it went from 2.7 gigs to over 4.5....

I dont know, but i wish there was some way to use that space for something other than email. Like a "Gdrive" or something for online storage.

There is a Firefox plugin called GSpace that does exactly that.

I too was recently boosted from 2.8 to 4.5 GB within the last few weeks. It's handy because I was at about 90% before the boost.

There is a "G Drive" per se. Maybe this.

it has been rising quickly over the past couple of weeks... considering how yahoo has unlimited storage now? And hotmail was at 4GB was it?

But this storage doesn't span across to picasa.. which is a shame.

Oh man, I wish you could do that - I'd be using Picasa a lot more.

still restricted by gmail's 20mb limit...unless the program somehow gets around that. Great for pictures and other documents though.

Perhaps it splits files.

It splits them into chunks, stored as different emails but show up as 1 file on your end. just don't go deleting those emails :)

I setup a different gmail acct just for files.
