Anyone else get a corrupted save in Batman: Arkham Asylum?

I'm always VERY careful not to shut off my Xbox while the little circle is spinning for the auto-save.. So I was playing Batman, got to the point where I get the anti-Venom and am on my way to get Poison Ivy, get to a new area, wait until it finishes saving and shut it off, come back a few hours later and goto load my game and... CORRUPTED SAVE. Only option it gives me is to delete the file.

I did a google search and it sounds like I'm definitely not the only one running into this problem. I absolutely did not shut it off while it was saving. No way. Of course Eidos is currently saying its not a bug, but it sure seems to be.

This seriously pisses me off. I'd gotten fairly far into the game and now I can't get back to my game. Is there any way of restoring my save?

ugg reminds me of the days of memory cards...hopefully theres a solution to this

Man, that sucks. I think you're pretty much SOL.

I always use the Quit option in the game and, as with all games, I then exit to the dashboard and hold the guide button to bring up the Shutdown Console option.

One of the few times I didn't follow these steps was for The Simpsons game which of course corrupted my save and ended my experience with the game. At least I only paid $10 for it.

Damn that sucks. I do what R Nilla says. There are/were save corruption issues with SFIV, and people recommended quitting the game to the dashboard and then shutting down the xbox from there.
