I think it's pretty awesome. A lto of work had to go into that. I've worked with PLC's and Siemens machines before.

I don't get it - the PLC was playing la cucaracha? or was it responding to the computer playing la cucaracha - the LEDs light up by frequency or beat?

a programmable logic controller - they have analog/digital inputs and outputs, based on your program and the inputs it controls motors/transducers/etc.

I've seen two PLCs in my life, and they were fairly small things.

Looks like this is the thing used in the video.


I can't say I've got the slightest idea what the PLC is actually doing in the video though.
I worked with them in schematic form in my Fluid Power class, where they were used to control pneumatic systems. In that sense, they seemed to be little more than a series of programmable switches.
