Disgusting? No...there are far more disgusting things people do in this world, than either bury or ingest a powder form of placenta.

consuming after birth or placenta is nothing new to humans.

also...

There was a story a while back where a mother gave birth to her baby in some small town in Indonesia. She later cooked it and ate the baby. Police found remains of the babies bones and was served with soy sauce.
