Ok, so I got my Dell Inspiron 8200 back in August and thought it was the coolest system ever. Right after I got it though, I ran into trouble with the BSOD in XP due to a faulty Nvidia nv_disp.dll problem. So i upgrade video drivers like everyone else to try to fix the problem, apparently it worked for a bit. Then later the computer would do weird things, like the mouse would jiggle on the screen, objects would be repainted in weird ways, or lock up etc, so I upgrade once again. That doesn't do anything. Upgrading the BIOS? nope, nothing there either. I upgraded to SP 1 on XP Home, that didn't do much , maybe only make things worse. So now I have these weird software/video problems that I can't get rid of and I can't stand it! :| And I'm not the only one either, the Dell support forums are packed with people who are having the exact same freeze up problems, wtf is up with that? Where's Dell's support to provide some stability? Grrr, this is pissing me off.

Anyone here have problems like this? The slow/jiggly mouse cursor and repaint problems can be fixed when I switch into CRT mode and back right away when I first notice something about to go haywire. Sometimes pressing ctrl-alt-delete doesn't help either cuz that stupid window doesn't get painted properly. I'm wondering if this is really video specific, as it seems to be, but then again only dell folks seem to have this problemo. I'm running nVidia 29.63 drivers, the latest and greatest but that's not saying much since my GF2Go decides to puke every once in a while.

Damn, let me know if you have any thoughts, I just thought I'd rant after this happened like 3 mins ago, and what better place to do it than ATOT :)

Makes me glad I got an 8100 instead of an 8200. Other than the fact that 1600x1200 is too tiny for a 15" lcd it works decently.

Actually a large number of people complaining in the Dell support forums are 8100 owners. Are you up to date with your drivers and software?

Keeping the Compaq Presario 1500T not sure what I'm going to do with the Dell Inspiron 4150. Have to decide quickly before Dell ships it.
