Anyone else expereince EXTREME slow down/lag with the Menu System is Kotor 2?

I reinstalled it yesterday to play on my new rig and the menus lag like helll. A button press takes thirty to sixty seconds to respond. It is so bad i have been unable to get into the game iself. All other games run fine on this system

Sounds like you need to set the affinity on that dual core proc to either cpu 0 or 1.

Edit : Also if thats not the problem... if you run LCD monitors you cannot run KOTOR 1 or 2 on your machine, or atleast its high probablility, Its a known bug with the version of the Nevery Winter Nights engine that Bioware has long fixed in NWN. However, Lucas arts being Lucas Arts... well... asking them for a patch is like asking for a first born ewok.

It has something to do with the refresh rates not syncing or something... dunno. I can't run it at all on my rig and it pwns NWN but can't even get into KOTOR without horrid graphical glitches and slowdown.
