Not like out on the lobe, but just not in the middle ear?

I've been to the doctor twice, and am on meds, but dear lord this hurts like a mofo. I've been through many painful things in my life, migraines, broken bones, wisdom teeth when novicaine wore off, etc, but this is the most intense and absolute worst pain ever.

I can't hear out of the ear and the pain radiates down to my jaw/neck and up to my head/headaches.

The pain keeps getting worse with each passing day, but the doctors keep telling me that I will be feeling better in 72 hours. I guess we will see, only 36 more to go.

I dont have any cans of compressed air to turn upside down and light on fire, or it might be worth a try?

I've had swimmer's ear several times. It's basically a middle ear infection, caused by water getting trapped in the ear. You may need some anti-biotics, and ear drops, and it it's really bad, the doctor may have to put a "wick" into the ear to get the drops into the infected area. Those are a real PITA to keep in...and they have to be protected from getting wet when you shower, or they will wick water into the ear as well, and have to be replaced.PLUS, it seems like every time you itch your ear, the dammed things pull out.

Acetic Acid drops are also surprisingly helpful in the treatment of this.

But, if you are seriously getting worse, with fevers, chills, lightheadness, etc....then you need to go to the ED.
