You guys think what you want and think it's mudslinging but other that phones didn't have those features were ages ago. Even one year is an eternity in cellphone land. I will not look at a phone that doesn't have basic smartphone features in this day and age. No multi-tasking, no tethering, no copy/paste. It's not like WE are the ones saying that it doesn't have it, these are coming from the Windows Phone 7 people themselves. You cannot "sandbag" a cellphone's specs, especially the way competition is.

True. And yet people buy Android and go nuts for the iPhone.

I think they should have some points knocked off for not having those features but wp7 also has quite a few features that no other phone has standard on all phones. I can already see the reviews being unfair by not mentioning all the stuff it does to push phones forward and will focus on the stuff its missing (that sure is what people are talking about here and other discussions).

As long as the software looks good and is easy to use, and the hardware is well-built, it'll sell well. Add a nice marketing campaign by MS like they did for Windows 7 last year, and they'll have a winner.

99% of people won't spend days dissecting every OS feature like people do on this forum. They try it out in the store, and get what they like. And IMO, many people will like it more than Android.

Well - it's their own fault. They knew the shitstorm apple (and to a lesser degree android) experienced due to the lack of copy & paste.
If they are as late to the party as they are ... they should at least copy the functionality that others have (before adding new and exciting features).
(BTW - I say the same about android which is just as bad ... 2 years after launch!!!)
