Anyone else does the whole "Geek Night" thing once in a while?

Once in a while I enjoy a "Geek Night", especially on a weekday when I don't work the next day and when there is nothing else to do. What I do is I just stare at my computer until dawn the next morning. During this time I usually do some freelance programming, computer tweaking, maybe a game once in a while. All of this while drinking caffeinated beverages. I always play some anime show on my TV in the background and some metal in the stereo....

It's actually a lot of fun... I wish I could do it more often....

Today is one of those nights....

This is what I got planned for tonight:

-Install my brand new Logitech Wireless Illuminated Keyboard (looks neat, replaces an aging diNovo)

-Tweak the RAM timings of my new computer (Sandybridge 2600K, 8GB RAM, Asus P8P67 Deluxe motherboard)

-Figure out my electric bill charges if I decide to run BOINC 24/7/365...

-Listen to the Gojira CD I just got. I love that freaking band (Reps to a fellow ATOT member who recommended it a while ago)

-Can't wait to try Bawls. Never tried it before. Usually I just drink Red Bull.

-Install Visual Studio 2010 and check out the new features (upgrading from 2005)

I don't really drink caffeine anymore except one cup of coffee in the morning, and I always work during the week. So no, not really. I did stay up until 2AM last week making a spreadsheet w/ VBA code to track investment returns, so that probably counts.

I'm really quite jealous. I need to do one of these soon. I usually do one on New Year's Eve every year. Get home from the party and stay up all night gaming/tweaking. New Year's is overrated when you're older than 18 anyway.
