Anyone else disappointed with the invisible Shield?

After getting one preinstalled on my 1-hour used ipod nano, I decided to purchase a brand new one for my Motorola KRZR K1.

Turns out to be a terrible decision.

1. Turns out there are 7 different pieces to stick on, with 3 being at the front
2. Not all of the pieces fit with 100% precision, thus making it look weird or stick out
3. Finger prints, dust, and what not get all over the sticky film before and after I apply it to the phone (yes, I read the instructions)

Because of this, I am about to exercise the 30-day moneyback guarantee and refund this POS back to Shield Zone....unless ANYONE on AT can convince me otherwise...I mean, I love the invisible Shield concept and I love how it allows my phone to shine, but it seems like it's not gonna work this time around....

you can use water to remove a lot of the dust and particles. use a piece of scotch tape to clear it up. wash your hands before applying.

i've used protectors on my SE cell phones, no problem..

i saw a co-worker the other day...he went to the extreme, and got his entire phone shrinkwrapped. didn't look half bad.

I have an invisible shield on both my Motorola V3m and my wife's K1m. Although there are a lot of pieces, all of the pieces fit extremely well. As someone mentioned, 95 percent of dust can be removed with just water. Applying the shield takes patience to do it right, but I've been very satisfied with the results, and the customer service from Shield Zone has been excellent as well.

I have an invisibleshield on my iPod and on my brother's iPod. The only problem that I've had with it is dust and fingerprints, but they come off with a moist paper towel.

I don't use the Invisible Shield, but a shield from Best Skins Ever. It's made up of the same quality material but costs a lot less. I use it on my Blackberry Pearl and it does a great job preventing scratches. I've also had experience with it on the T-Mobile Dash.

Skins will come in a varying number of parts, depending on the coverage you want. If you want total body coverage, then the shield will come in many parts, like it does in your case. However, there are skins that will come in a basic front and back layer.

Again, if you want to save a lot more money, forget buying it from shieldzone.com and get yours from bestskinsever.com.

Hmm, it works very well on my ipod video, as it has stood up to just about everything for the past two years without a scratch. All in all I am very happy.

As for fingerprints, sure they show up, but they will show up on anything. Better to have the protective film then nothing IMO.

I always put my screen protectors on in the bathroom after running the shower and sink hot for like 5-10 minutes. all the air-suspended dust gets reduced and I use two pins to pick up and place the protecive material. I then rub the bubbles out with a damp paper towel.

Got this method from a PDA forum like ~8 years ago.

Always have a fingerprint/dust free application for my PDAs. I guess may be harder if the material is super thin and curls when you peel it.
