I just like Nissans better. Better performance and styling for the money in comparison to Honda and Toyota.

Im thinking of getting this coupe this summer.

It looks like it will be a nice upgrade from my 3 year old Scion TC.

styling is subjective, but i think the only good looking car that Nissan/Datsun/Infiniti has ever produced is the current G35 coupe, and even that has one of the ugliest interiors ever made. i populate my list of the 10 ugliest cars with a lot of their products (J30, Armada, etc).

If you're going to buy a midsize car, buy the sedan. Otherwise you're just wasting the platform, weight, etc, for a less practical vehicle with less space.

Why do people do that?

Base price is $20,490. That's with no options. I guess if you're happy having a car with the base 4 cylinder engine and no option packages, you can probably get it out the door for that price.

I take the base price, add in haggling, and figure I get a few small option upgrades for about base price. =)

Well yea, 20k MSRP. After a couple months, you should be able to get the I4 basic for 20k OTD. Some people don't need all that stupid option. They charge like $85 for floor mat ffs.

Even the cheapest "convenience" package on the Altima sedan is $1,000. Tech package seems to vary from $3-6k depending on the model. At least the coupe comes with standard ABS. Evan that's another $310 on the sedan.

I think the worst was when the 350Z came out. I think the MSRP was something like $26k for the base model, with the track edition somewhere north of $35k. People would say things like "wow such a hot car for only $25k!" while discussing the track edition Z.
And for years, whenever there's a thread that pops up asking "which new car should I get for under 20k?" there always seems to be someone that says to get a WRX, even though the base price has started over $24k for as long as I can remember. It seemed that people thought they could get a Imprezza WRX for under $20k when it was only the 2.5 that could be had for that cheap.

You can get new toyota camry le's for about 18kotd in some places. I got subaru legacy se for 20.5otd (I think it was 22 msrp) and people on the forums regularly get the GT versions for 26-27 while they msrp at 30-31. Factory rebates + dealer incentives + haggling means you should often get otd for at least msrp unless its a hot car.
