Well in all honestly you realize ari is still on the show like 10 seconds into the credits.

Ari is by far the most interesting character on the show, no way they'll get rid of him

Yeah that's like saying zomg spoilers Han Solo is in The Empire Strikes back. Would saying that Vince has a new agent and that Turtle has cancer be a spoiler too?

This episode felt like it was 5 minutes in length. Other than the ability to stretch out the season twice as long, why did they go with a 30 minute time slot instead of an hour like pretty much every other series HBO has?

yea. this is the first time Im watching this live. I didnt have HBO before and watched all the previous seasons on DVD...so didnt really 'feel' the 30 minute time slots before. Now that Im watching it live, i can really feel how short the episodes are

Yeah, it's too short. At least you don't have the commercials eating into the 30 mins like network tv.

I think 30 minutes is the perfect format...it's long enough to develop a decent storyline but short enough that each episode feels packed with good writing and comedic bits. All in all, you get a great show for 30 minutes that makes you want next week to be here already. I don't think they could achieve/maintain the same "aura" with an hour show, I feel that it would be much more serious.

Yeh, I can agree that the 30 minute "power session" helps add a sense of urgency/immediate gratification to the overall "feel" of the show.

I don't think there's any question that will happen, even if it isn't until the last episode of the current mini-season. He is by far the most interesting character on the show.
