Anyone else can't stand wine?

I love my alcohol, whether it be beer or liquor form..but I've never been able to drink any sorts of wine..whether it be really cheap stuff, or moderate $30/bottle cheap stuff. I'm not about to spend $100 on a bottle to see if I like that stuff any better.

I seriously prefer the taste of straight vodka to wine, just a sip of a merlot or something and I rush to get the taste out of my mouth. Even with 151 I can go without a chaser after a full shot..wine on the other hand, bleck.

Wine = teh gross!!!!

Only wine I've ever been able to stand was a 2000 bordeaux from france I once tried and that was barely tolerable seeing as how I didn't make a mad dash to the bathroom to throw it up.

Considering the medium age of ATOT is probably 20, it's not surprising to see the responses we've gotten so far. 😛 It's an acquired taste.

Seriously, I like it and I'm only... well... not old enough, lets put it that way =P

BTW, American beer sucks.

Learn to like wine, young ones. Or at least educate yourself on it. Women associate men who know their wine with money. So know a few facts, learn to drink it, and the women will think you're rich (even though you're not).

For the record, wine is good.

not the $5 boxed wine.

while i'm no wine expert, i do enjoy a glass of wine from time to time. My particular favorite is Moscato D'Asti, a light white wine, that's pretty good with most any meal and even in just conversation since it's light enough. Though i do admit, i haven't really found a red i really enjoy yet 🙁

Try Beaulieu Vineyards Tapestry. about $30/bottle so a bit high to try as an experiment. But everyone who I recommend that wine to loves it.

Wine is pretty strong, but you can get some cheap wine (Lambrusca . sp?)that tastes more like grape juice than wine.

Plus, it supposedly is good for your heart (red wine), and anything good for your heart is awesome.

I actually like it, beer isn't really good for you, and the safest hard liquor is vodka, so wine and vodka is all I keep at my place.

I used to hate vodka because I took like 20 shots when I was 15, but I realize its better then a lot of other alcohols and gets you fvcked up.

-not good for hangovers of course.

I think wine is an acquired taste just like beer, so maybe you just need to get used to it.

Go to a wine-tasting place to sample the good stuff. I'm not too terribly fond of most wines.

I have in fact I went to the Tuscan region of Italy last week and sampled some of their wine from 2001, apparently it was good wine. But apparently the better a wine is the more it tastes like nail polish remover.

No way! I was just there too... we got served wine in this shady open red wine bottle, I was scared... but it was more like grape juice than wine ;P

I really enjoy barleywines.
I also really like Mead quite a bit.

Of course I also drink regular wine too ... I just don't know much about it at all.

Considering you called it "all crap" I'd stfu since you're probably barely old enough to drive a car.

I think if I ever find a good wine, I'll like it. But I'm 28, ~50 different wine glasses down, and still have yet to find one that tastes good. I can't stand dry wine. And the sweet wines are too sugary. I need something berry flavored that is in the middle.

So until then, I can't stand wine.

im 24 Genius

Mad Dog 20/20 for teh win!!

Really, I don't like wine. I drink it, barely, and have learned to keep a face on that doesn't look like I put the most dreadful and sourest thing in my mouh, which usually I just did when I drank the wine. Not drinking wine is a hard thing growing up in in a family that are wine fanatics and I'm the only one that hates them. I had my first "small" glass when I was 4 years old. I also know my wines and what are suppose to be "good" wines by what other peopel recommend so if I have to talk about wines in a fashion that makes it seems I like them, then I can.

However, anyone that likes rotten grape juice isn't right in the head anymore in my opinion

You just have to find what you like. And "buying blind" off the shelf is a frustrating & expensive way to do that 😛 Going wine tasting at wineries or wine festivals is alot of fun - I may go to one in Castle Rock this weekend. You get to try *lots* of different wines. Probably most of them you won't like, but you'll start getting a feel for the varieties, wineries, regions, etc. that you do.

And it is somewhat of an aquired taste - I used to really dislike most red wines and preffered very fruity sweet wines - reisling, gewurtz, voigner, etc. But I like alot of reds now also - just not the very oaky & dry reds. Unfortunately very oaky wines have been the "thing" recently, though I think that's changing.

I know some people who are passionate about wine. They make wine tasting parties fun, but I find wine itself kind of boring.

I guess it's an acquired taste. I used to think beer was nasty and now I love it. I'm just too cheap to drink good wine.

i always found Asti Spumante pleasant enough.

I went to a very nice restaraunt, a client of mine paid, it was $300 for each of us. 9 course meal with a different taster wine for each course. some of them we very very good, some were God awful.
