Anyone else bothered by what Robinson said after the game?

When asked what he has to say after winning the game, he said was "Praise the Lord, He gave us the ability to win the championship" or something to that extent...and so does that mean God was against the Nets and the other 27 teams in the NBA from winning the championship?

I mean, he's probably my favorite player of all time, and easily one of the best people in sports, but bleh..

Why does everyone take comments about god, like this one, so seriously

Oh ofcourse god is a Spurs fan, I mean why wouldn't he be

Good grief

maybe he was just thanking God for allowing him to be so fortunate enough to win a championship on his retirement season 😕

i'm PRETTY sure he wasn't saying "God was with us, not them".

haha.

If that bothered you, I suggest you stay away from world history.

On another note, that was a fvcking great 4th quarter. GO SPURS!

Well he should be thanking his teammates, his coach, his fans, his family, etc..in my view thanking God if you're into that stuff should be done privately.

Feel free to disagree.

ok, this is standard after every game, in the interview with the winning team...

"i'd like to thank the good lord jesus christ for our victory out / in here today..."

get used to it

It was is a great time with lots of emotion and he is a very devout Christian. I also believe you misunderstood what he said. You are being stupid.

Wow, someone can't even mention God anymore without someone crying about it

Grow up and stop whining.

God was against the Red Wings this year.

And apparently God likes to toy with people's emotions. He let the Ducks get all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals, then he DASHED their hopes of winning.

😀

You were probably bothered by it because you have no personality. 😉

Sorry to make two posts in a row but I just read this and have to hear the incredibly enlightened opinion of someone who thinks thanking God can only be done in private. I'm honestly interested to hear why so please, proceed.

Well obviously so that people like me can't start threads like these. Duh.

David has always made references to God. I saw him in a bowling alley once when I was 11-12 (now 22) and got his autograph. He wrote his name and a bible scripture number. Anyway, he has always been a really nice guy as are the other spurs. That is why a lot of people do not like them. There are not enough crimanals on this team for those people to like us.
