Anyone else been having trouble with ICQ?

I've used ICQ through Trillian for a couple years. All of a sudden a few days ago I started getting an error that my password is wrong. WTF? I've tried going to the ICQ site to get my PW back but it won't send it to any of the e-mail addresses I've used in the past. Did someone seriously steal my ICQ account? I can't even figure out where they would have gotten the password from. Or why the hell you would steal an ICQ account.

Seems to work for me. Using ICQ through Trillian too. All one of my contacts is online

The only thing I've been having a problem with is Pidgin v2.01 and AIM - when I was trying to connect after turning on my computer, it kept returning a failed authorization.

Damnit, I wonder what happened. I was on some unsecured wireless at hotels over the past few weeks, but I can't imagine someone was packet sniffing for ICQ passwords lol.

I only use it to chat with one stubborn dude who won't get AIM.

My icq got hacked a few years ago. It sucked bad. Some russian hack group wanted me to pay to get it back.

We should nuke russia.

they're disabling the accounts to see if anyone notices. so far, they've gotten away with it.

Had the same problem about 6 months ago.

One day, I just couldn't log into my ICQ account - incorrect password. I ended up losing that account, because I'd also put some really unhelpful password recovery info in; the password was one that was secure but unforgettable.

No idea what happened - maybe someone hijacked the account, maybe the server screwed up, who knows.
