i can't access CNN, reddit, imgur, quora, github and a few other sites big big sites. supposedly someone is hammering DNS servers and it is affecting a lot of people.

My buddy just emailed me about that. I only really care about github but I can still access that. I hope I can access it when I get home though because I have some work I have to do at home.

Thankfully AWS wasn't on that list either since that would be bad for the backend of our app too.

I was trying to grab a script from github for work, and thought the author had pulled it until a Google search told me about the DDoS.

Oh well, plenty of other things to work on, like my ATOT postcount....

Starting at 11:10 UTC on October 21th-Friday 2016 we began monitoring and mitigating a DDoS attack against our Dyn Managed DNS infrastructure. Some customers may experience increased DNS query latency and delayed zone propagation during this time. Updates will be posted as information becomes available. This attack is mainly impacting US East and is impacting Managed DNS customer in this region. Our Engineers are continuing to work on mitigating this issue.

this is what happens when fridges toilets thermostats and any other major kitchen appliances are connected via the IOT.

probably a massive samsung/frigidaire botnet.
