Couldn't connect to xbox live on the 360 for almost 6 hours. At first I couldn't find anything online about it so was worried it was just me. Quick search on Twitter showed I wasn't alone though. Looks like it was a DDoS attack by "Lizard Squad". The good folks at xbox support had no idea there was even an issue it seems. Anyways glad it was fixed.

Some folks upset that Black Friday deals for the One were not quite as good as they hoped?

I just wish, once, one of these idiots organizing this stuff would be found and then a video of them being punched in the face was posted online. It would stop like 99% of this idiocy. We need a group willing to track down these morons and kick them in the nads, for the public good! White hats unite?

Other night I turned on my XB1 to play Forza Horizon 2 and noticed I wasn't able to connect to XBL, went on google to search and yep services were down, then I went to IGN and said "seems XBL is down" and got responses with people saying "I have no issues XBL isn't down you r*tard", but that's typical of IGN posters though. BF4 XB1 was extremely laggy as well all weekend.

Lizardsquad are a bunch of asshats that's really accomplishing nothing, it's just like a group of skateboarders dressing like hipsters pushing bypassers or homeless people around just to get a laugh out of it.

I guess they didn't get enough attention earlier this week, perhaps Monday was a bad day to do it since everyone's busy with work and school.

To me, this is the internet equivalent to looting. No point is made besides pissing people off more. I don't use my XB1 much, but it does piss me off when I find time to play and services are done.

I agree. I was at work during this recent one but my wife and I stream Netflix through our xbox as well. She's been having some medical issues lately (nothing serious) and is currently bed/couch ridden so she wanted to use it as night to stream some stuff. Program got interrupted. Like you said, it's frustrating because finding time to use it is hard enough let alone being denied service.

I dunno. Has it been going on for several months? My Xbox live service goes out more than Paris Hilton. Pretty crappy for something you have to pay for.

They're making you mad that's accomplishing something?
Isn't that the definition of trolling? And they're accomplishing it?

They are megalomaniacs who are using the outages as advertising for their "services". If you go to their chat room, you will see in the topic that they are taking requests, and of course, want money to do so.

The best way to rid ourselves of these children is to ignore them. Eventually, they will go away.

Lizard Squad is claiming they're going to take down XBL permanently on December 24th. Damn asshole kids. Their parents are going to pitch a fit when the FBI shows up at their door steps.

Taking down XBL permanently...so is that a threat to bomb the MS data centers & kill all MS employees or something? Because a DDoS isn't going to last "forever"...
