I was before I go the iPhone. Problem is the HTC Touch (Diamond) is going for like $700 on Ebay. Pro would be more.

Too much money

I'm planning to pick it up through Sprint. Conveniently enough, it's going to release right after my contract expires. muhahaha

I'm not sure about Sprint, but the rumors say it'll at least be on AT&T as the "HTC Fuze". My contract is up early next year, mwahahaha!

damn it, i was going to pick one up on Sept 2nd from sprint.

i want my portable unlimited internet router......

the price is probably ~$299 with 2 year contract

maybe they delayed the launch so HTC touch pro will come out at the same time?

edit: looks like sept 2nd is still good if you get it from the corp. store.

yep. im definitely getting the touch pro for sprint (htc herman) as soon as it comes out. im done with my treo 700p. im super hyped for it, and if you want to read up more on it, go on xda developers and go to their htc raphael forum...lots of people already have it and are posting impressions/problems/etc. someone even posted the att rom already!

hopefully this phone will not require me to get the $100 everything plus plan on sprint (unlike the instinct which requires you to get it)..i want to keep my $30 sero dammit! :)

All word so far is that it won't do so. If you go for the cheap renewal, you may be forced into upgrading to a new plan (so keep Russ McGuire's SERO reference handy. New plan is $60 I think, but includes a few new features). If you pay for it without a new contract, you should be golden.

The initial word of the Touch Pro and Touch Diamond came from leaked Sprint documents. It stands to reason that if the Diamond is coming to Sprint, so is the Pro.

And, yes, I'm considering the Touch Pro - I think you'd have to be crazy not to. My PPC-6700 / HTC Apache is getting long in the tooth, even with custom ROMs. Having a full-out VGA screen and tons of RAM would make it amazing for web browsing on the go (which I do very frequently), especially now that sites are optimizing for the iPhone at 480x320 (eg, half of VGA resolution).

I didnt see the ATT rom and searching for "ATT" didnt turn up anything. AFAIK everything I read is that they cant confirm

1. 850mhz radio, and
2. a hard SPL

We'll see though

Touch Diamond was announced at the Sprint indirect confrence although it announced later than Sept 2. http://www.engadgetmobile.com/...diamond-launch-on-spr/

For the Touch Pro, there have been a few Sprint employees that have confirmed an email for arrival possibly 30 days after Diamond. The Rapheal is Verizon's and Herman is Sprint's. Lots of info on sprintusers.

Are 3G iPhone users having problems with carriers other than AT&T?

The _iPhone 3G_ sucks. HSDPA does not.

YES!

I really want to get one, but I'd need to buy an unlocked one (on tmobile), and I can't justify the price and my Wing still works well. A little slow, but well enough.

I thought it was determined that AT&T's network was the problem, not the iPhone?

& the 3G problem with the iPhone has been reported on the Rogers network in Canada too.

the technology they use is not as good as Sprints and Verizons

HTC Diamond 09/14 and Pro 10/19 Launch dates per Sprint's quick reference brief. These are firm dates.

edit: These are retail dates. Telesales should have them in stock already, word has it on sale Tuesday for the diamond. Telesales usually gets shit 10 days before retail.

Excellent! If the pro debuts around 299 (w/ contract) I'll be picking it up at launch.

Any word on Verizon?

How does their pricing compare to Sprint? I wish sero was still around :(

I am picking up the AT&T Fuze (HTC Touch Pro) this coming 11th. It's pricey, but i think it's worth it.

I can't wait :)

I'm up for an upgrade early next year. It's either gonna be the Touch Pro or the iPhone. I'm eagerly awaiting reviews of the Touch Pro on AT&T!

I got the HTC Touch Pro for Sprint and love it. Jumped on the deal at BB with the 20% coupon on smartphones that expired the begining of this month. ended up being $240 plus tax, sold my old treo 700wx on craigslist for $120 cash and got the $18 activation fee waived as well as a $70 credit just for signing a 2 year contract.

Only complaint I have had is that it can be a little slow in general and its a smartphone so it doesnt have that great battery life and will crash on occasion. My treo was much worse at locking up and crashing though. Its still a major upgrade from what I had.
