Okay so I have an e-mail address where people send me things computer related in hopes of me posting it on my website so they could get more hits. I don't have a website anymore but I still like to read these e-mails.
So today I got this e-mail:
<< WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? Seems as an, so called, American company has asked their employees to remove their American Flags from their cubicles. Reason? Because the company believes that it may offend some of its employees. What a bunch of CRAP!!
"Divisive statements or actions, political or religious discussions and anything else that could be divisive or mean different things to different people are not appropriate in our work environment," Chief Executive Officer Bill Schrempf said Friday in a memo to employees." >>
And it sends accross a nice message and all and over all a good story, but then at the end of the e-mail is this:
<< Read More: http://www.adfhae5tgsrfgsz.com >>
And going to the website I discover the news posting in its entirety and at the end it reads:
<< Check out what we are saying about this in the Forums...." >>
Now I've been receiving these types of e-mails for about a year now, and 99% of them have one goal only: to gain traffic. And to me, this only seems like an extension of such, and a very sickening way of gaining traffic and popularity of their forums. I mean, if the website owner only wanted to inform everyone about this story, he easily could've posted it all in the e-mail, rather than leaving the readers hanging with a link to the website.
Now that wasn't the only mail I've gotten similar to that. I've got another one several days ago titled "A Survivor's Story", which basically had a story of someone surviving this whole ordeal, and at the end he states:
<< A news post on your website would be most graciously appreciated. >>
So am I just continuing being the devil's advocate here, or eh?
