I agree with you about how there are too many rich people running for office (all of them). However, you have a flaw in your logic. You make the mistake of thinking that just because all politicians in office are rich, that it is a pre-requisite. It is not. A person could certainly get elected if he/she was not rich, however, it is not very likely because most middle/lower class people would give up too soon and not put forth enough effort for the long haul. There are plenty of lower level positions (mayors and such) who are normal non-rich people. It's just that most don't have the aspiration to go farther. They look at the road to the capital and think that it's just too long and hard, so they stay where they are. Sure, money makes it much easier, but it is not required. And I think that we need to look for more candidates that are just normal people.
