Anyone carved their pumpkin yet? Any way to make the pumpkin last longer?

Ryan

I think I started a little too early. I bought the biggest ones I could find last week, and they were pretty expensive. They're about a 1 and 3/4ths feet tall, and fat, but for some reason I got the urge to carve one today - but then halfway through carving I realized that I have 5 days until Halloween!!!! 🙁

Damn, are there any techniques or methods to make the pumpkin last until Friday without being covered in mold?

Spray it with Lysol and rub the cut surfaces with vasoline. Keep it in a plastic bag in the fridge till you want to display it if you can fit it.

Go to your local Dollar Store, buy a bunch of the cheap cans of spray lubricant (WD-40 knockoff).

Coat liberally. Let soak in so as not to catch fire when you light the candle.

You mean pumpkin, not pumkin, right? Hehe, those of you who read that other thread earlier today know what I'm talking about....
