Anyone care about Galaxy's Edge at WDW?

I'm thinking about going Hollywood Studios next week to check it out. Not sure it's worth flying down to Florida, but it seems like a fun way to ditch a few days of work. I'm not a huge star wars fan, but who knows, maybe I will be after this.

Took my fam to DL in early May this year specifically to avoid the crowd that the Star Wars stuff would generate. Backfired, since season pass holders were getting in before blackout dates hit and the place was overrrun.

Might actually be better now, but I've heard that Disney is really milking their SW license with a "they will pay anything" mentality. Not a lot of rides and all the shopping stuff is overpriced to hell and back...

Florida in August? Jimi Hendrix live wouldn't be enough to get me to go.

At the world, it doesn't open until Aug 28. I got a 4 hour passholder reservation to preview the place early next week, but my kids are in school so I'm going to check it out solo before the lines are really nuts.

Now I haven't any of the Star Wars movies since the one on how Darth Vader became Vader bu getting burned in the volcano, but from what I've heard the series the are not up par with the first three movies since Disney brought the rights.

I'm with you... I wasn't thrilled about cgi replacing real special effects, even.

Looks cool, but only 1 ride (hopefully they get the 2nd one running quickly). Hollywood Studios desperately needed this though, that place has been a half day park (if that) for the past 10 years IMO.
