Anyone call a power strip a six-dollar switch?

I picked the term up in highscool, my general technology teacher called them six-dollar switches. Everytime I use it people look at me like I am insane though. Just wondering if anyone ever heard of this term used for a power strip.

EDIT: Oh by the way, the teacher used to be high all the time (this was back in 96) and he would let us play Quake 1 and Diablo 1 over the network during our lunch breaks. When you were late for class you could either take the tardy or do something embarrising, like sing barney songs in front of the class. Also, if you would get into trouble during class, he would line you up against the wall and everybody would shoot spit-balls and throw stuff at you.

you're full of crap. it's a power strip, possibly a surge protector... but it sure as hell isnt a "six dollar switch"

He was the coolest teacher by far in highschool. When you were late for class you could either take the tardy or do something embarrising, like sing barney songs in front of the class.

Deja Vu...
