Just wondering anyone here is getting GW2 CE and what you guys think about the value in this package? I'm considering it cause it comes w/ a nice action figure and beta access etc.

what do you guys think about the CE?

All the editions come with beta access. The CE generally makes sense for two types of people, imo. The ones who like to collect game memorabilia (first type), and the ones that hope it will become a 'rare item' that they can flip for profit in a few months (second type).

I normally get CE's, i do like the statue but outside of that i just did not see the value, plus i feel like i wasted a bit on the SWTOR CE. I ended up going with the digital CE, but that is a great looking statue.

There are 3 versions: Standard (Digital and physical), Digital Deluxe (digital only) and CE (physical only).

If you pre-purchase, all of them grant access to beta, 3 day headstart and 1 item.

The Digital Deluxe and the CE have the same IN GAME ITEMS.

Additionally Anet confirmed there will be an upgrade that will allow you to upgrade from standard edition to Deluxe (effectively gaining all the in-game items) at a later time.

So as it is been said, you should only buy the CE if you really want the statue and the paintings, art book and sound track.

If you only want the in game stuff you can get the Digital Deluxe or just wait since the in game items aren't exactly giving you a big advantage if that is what you are looking for.

I went for the Deluxe since I know I want the mini for my collection and the influence bonus will be nice to start up the guild.

But you aren't losing much (the elite skill is a summon type skill but like every elite is only available at level 30 and won't be more powerful then regular profession skills).

You can always save the money and use it to buy gems from the cash shop to get extra storage, extra character slots and maybe some dyes and other cosmetic stuff.

In general, Collector's Editions are not worth the premium and most modern ones have more than enough of them produced to not be worth anything in terms of rarity for a long ass time, if ever. Not to mention the audience is pretty small.

Buy it if you want to support the company and get something in return or if you might actually get some enjoyment out of the baubles.

I find it quite hilarious when the word "value" is used to describe worthless trinkets attached to a video game.

If you want it, and want to give them more money for the game than other people it's worth it to you.

I bought the CE, which I've never done for any other game. I think I want it mostly for the art book... which probably has a value of $20 at most. :)

It is a very expensive CE with no real special in game items.

Zoduku bought one - he seems active on the guildwars2 thread.
