I have been using Farhenheit by Dior, but not sure if I am crazy for it since they changed ingredients (which was the cause of it being so hard to find for so long)...

A cheap cologne I like and just started with is Swiss Army Classic....i got it as a free sample with my Farhenheit.

I want to try Creed Green Irish Tweed though...haven't found a sampler yet locally but wasn't really shopping cologne at the time. Creed's website appears out of it as a sampler.

I want to check out the vetiver but heard Creed's isn't as good as the Malle.

At $300+ for an 8oz bottle it's about 5x what I am used to spending, but a 6.8oz bottle of Farhenheit usually lasts me 6 months or so...a while. I heard the Creed is pretty potent so maybe I'd get a year or so out of it daily wear, but I plan to just wear it weekends and the like.

Basenotes.com is a pretty good website for reviews.

Whatever you get, make sure you aim center mass. You look like the kind of guy who gets pitters while eating a tub of Ben and Jerry's in a snow storm.

not exactly $300/bottle, but I usually wear burberry brit.

I agree with the reviews on the site, though. smells amazing but doesn't last very long.

ADIDAS Moves for Men. $20 / bottle.

Any more expensive than that and it's not worth wearing. It's not like some exotic scent will make people flock to you if you don't have anything else going on for you.

it's definitely one of many factors, though.

if a guy smells great on a first date, the thought of it is going to stay with me longer than what he was wearing or how his hair was styled.

I've also got many female friends who will give me a lingering hug if I'm wearing a cologne that they really like ;)

sorry bro, didn't know you take things so personally. Claiming it's best to go for head shots and not center mass and then saying you've done multiple war tours is laughable at best though.

So what cologne does one of our elite forces wear?

Good god people, a man should smell like a man (au naturale), not like a woman (cologne aka perfume).

Unless you're one of those people that have horrible BO, in which case you should use some mild deodorant instead.

Hate to break it to you, but all the "men's men" of all time have had a fragrance associated with them.

Women dig them and other men are also affected subconsciously, which is their intended purpose.

Even Hemingway wore a cologne.

Cologne = immediate turn off.

I want you straight guys to start asking honest girls if they actually like the way cologne smells. It's hard to tell with women in bed, with men - a lack of erection is a dead giveaway.

Humans were not evolved to be sexually turned on by orange peel, bark extract or whatever BS they put in there.

I'm not saying it doesn't smell NICE, it doesn't smell MANLY.

Err, Moves. Fixed, thanks.

It's gotten very good reviews, the next gen version Moves 0:1 not so high.

I was surprised myself how cheap the Swiss Army was. I had heard about it, but never tried it.

I wore Lagerfeld a long time and most 'girls' at the time loved it and so did my barbers.

My dad wore it though, so as I grew I tried finding my own scent. I tried Paul Sebastian, Drakkar Noir, CK One, Polo (used to give me a headache though, so that only lasted a couple days), and a couple others I can't remember now.

Fahrenheit I have worn over a decade.

Colognes should be about how it smells on you, how it blends with your chemistry so that the person that's smelling you like it, and how YOU like smelling it on you. It's not about how much it cost, silly person.

Colognes are very personal, and they can't be "reviewed".

When you say us 'straight guys' are you a homo- or bi-sexual?

I know MOST women love a good scent on a man day to day. Yes at times they like him natural...but you have to be a nutter to think guys have decided to do cologne because it's just for them.

Cologne was invented to mask the most offensive BOs, and lack of proper hygiene in history.

I am a homo and I do not approve this thread. :(

What I am asking is for those that have experience in them since they more than likely also have bought lower cost fragrances.

I'd never buy a cologne without testing it on myself first unless it was $30-50 or less.
