Anyone buy cheap CR123A batteries on eBay?

They run about $1 apiece on eBay. Are they junk? Good? Any experiences? I don't expect them to blow up on me, but I don't want to get them and find they die quickly.

I agree with this suggestion - I was going to recommend the same thing. These batteries are of excellent quality and the price is right. I use these for my Surefire flashlight.

Haven't bought from them myself, but CPF says that they're pretty good, but Surefire is somewhat better. If you buy one of their deals with a case for roughly $1 a battery, it's slightly better than Surefire for $1.25.

AmondoTech is where I get my CR123 batteries. Though, before, I ordered them and they were like 90 cents each. Now they're up to $1.

I compared them to a brand new Duracell CR123a when I got them and the voltage was like .10V higher on the Amondotech batteries..

What about those flashlights that use the N size batteries? With a few more millimeters they could handle an AA. Actualy, with a better design they wouldn't the parabola reflector and could fit an AA in the same size.

Lithium maganese dioxide technology has much higher capacity for given cell size. Double voltage is also a plus.

Don't forget to check out R123's as well. They work nice in regulated lights and since they run higher (3.7-4.2VPC) using them in incandescent lights is not recommended.

And the comment regarding eating is true. Just avoid Sanyos for some reason they taste like dog feces.
