When the game first came out i was in love but now the honeymoon stage is over and i'm absolutely bored with it. I've gone back to BC2. That game i can still play for endless amounts of time. Am i mad?

I've played for a little over 100 hours (mostly Conquest but some Rush) and have yet to be bored with the game. Given that the gameplay is so different depending on whether I play on foot or in a vehicle, I doubt I will get bored anytime soon. Moreover, in many of the matches in which I have played, there will be some cool event to which I am merely a bystander and it always amazes me when I witness them (I still love watching skilled jets go at it on Caspian or laugh when the facade of a building falls onto a passerby). If anything, the fact that, unlike CoD for example, my contributing to the overall success of my team isn't necessarily dependent on my killing others, makes the game all the more enjoyable.

Finally, were I ever to get bored, I'm sure I could switch to one of the other game modes and, by providing different game experiences, further extend the game's appeal to me.

I understand getting sick of BF in general, but there isn't anything BC2 does that BF3 doesn't do better.

Infantry movement, for sure. Much smoother. BF is supposed to be the middle ground between arcade and realism, but for BF3 you may as well be playing ArmA/RO2 in terms of infantry movement.

Hell, when I bought RO2 over the summer I couldn't stand the restrictive proning/etc, and yet when I went back to RO2 to do the Steam christmas sale achievement, after having played BF3, it was almost as if I'd become used to it...

This is of course a comment aimed not at "quality" but at the design decision of who they are targeting. Which is obviously CoD players, but, me not being a CoD player, I have to wonder if CoD has such "realism" or "authenticity" in its infantry movement.

I get bored with it if I play it too much straight but after a break I'm ready to get back into it. Just like counter strike - no matter how many times you play dust2 just never gets old :)

Not a chance I'm getting bored anytime soon...

Epic moment last night, about to run up the stairs at Container Area in Canals, when a freaking TANK flies over top of us the ridge dukes of hazzard style! EPIC!! Me and my buddy couldn't stop laughing.. After the tank killed us both, that is...

Between that and getting shot, dying, and getting dragged by a Jeep for a hundred meters while my limp lifeless corpse is flailing behind the Jeep... Another epic moment...

And I haven't even tried deathmatches yet...

It has an in-game server browser and doesn't require Origin. That's enough for me to stick with BC2 by itself.

Hell no, if I had my vote BF3 would be game of the year, not Skyrim, now that's the game I'm already getting bored with. I checked my BF3 stats the other night and got my KDR to 1.9, which gave me a leg to try for 2.0, which will probably take another month.

Funny how people think "an in game server browser" is better than anything else out there. BC2's server browser is a piece of shit, if people actually use Battlelog, they'll realize the game works pretty damn well with it and how much better it is over BC2's.

What's so bad about the "server browser in the browser" concept? I only tried BF3 beta for one evening, but it was pretty nice to be able to check email/cat videos while the game is loading.

Origin however looks pretty shady and is a shit move. And is partially why I don't own BF3, that and the high price. I don't need everthing to be on steam, but I don't want to see each publisher have their own exclusive DD platform.

I don't think anything. I just like the maps better then the BF3 maps. Atacama has been my favorite for a long time.

I enjoy Karkand and Wake but it needs more vehicles.

I quit playing it about a month ago, I didn't really get board of it, I just am moving in other directions now days.

I have logged over 600 hours in bf2 and probably 450 in bc2, and a few hundred in the 1942 and Vietnam games. I will probably get flamed for saying this, but I feel the bc2 was the perfect mix of combat and vehicular play, although I didn't initially like it's play style the first time I played it.

So many things wrong with bf3 right now, i'm not going to repost the hundreds and hundreds of bugs that they are "working on" since release.

Its not minor bugs mind you i'm talking about. When the lead weapon guy says stuff on twitter like " This got past me because i was on vacation when they released it" you know its not a good sign.

BC2 at least it is polished. Vehicular's are not OP since release, no classes are truly bad unlike bf3. But the maps in bf3 in bc2 and i %100 guaranteeing you that mojority bf3 players would just quit and move over to it.

Heck at least you can play it. I got it for Christmas and since I have WinXP I cant play BF3 <sigh>

Btw, can a person have a choice to dual boot between Winxp and Win-7?

Yes, you can dual boot, the question is why though? Better to back up, format, and do a fully clean install of W7 64-Bit. You should be able to run everything on 7, and it will be more reliable.

ah, and I'm not bored with BF3 yet. Some things can be aggravating from time to time, but overall it's pretty good. I'm looking forward to new maps that are similar to Caspian and Firestorm though. The B2K maps really sucked imho, and I don't even play on B2K servers anymore.

My favorite thing to do is watch someone on the other team accuse me of aimbotting/hacking and ragequit. It's always hilarious.

Not bored with it, but I took a little break from playing too frequencly from mid-December until just recently. Two things I noticed that are different - one is a big influx of new players to mow down, the other is that it seems like even unorganized servers seem to have more people doing team-like things like using SOFLAM now. Both are making the game fun.

One thing I kind of wish they'd bring back from 1942 is the way rounds ended. I thought the way it used to work was even if your team had no flags left, the game played out until the last player was killed. It made close matches tense all the way to the very end. Now, even if you've got half your team alive, the counter just drops to zero and the round ends.

I've played around the same amount of time for the different releases, and agree about BC2. Got bored (sick of) BF3 around level 18 (2 weeks?).

I just can't stand some of the additions, like flashlights and vehicles breaking down. The gadgets are stupid, especially for Recon, and the gameplay feels more like a deathmatch (CoD,Halo) game, instead of a Battlefield game. Don't even get me started on the IR scope (ie bright players hack); imo, but 50 kills and 5 deaths while watching TV with an IR scope on Caspian is OP.

I want my old arcade style BF back, where the classes make the difference, not perks and OP attachments. Sure there is a counter for everything, but it's stupid to make you respawn as the counter to do it... what happened to an even playing field?

I haven't played in 2 weeks. Sometimes it just gets so frustrating I want to punch my monitor. I think it was playing the B2K maps...I really like the maps but with the assignments and no infantry only servers the game just got old really quick for me. Once I finished the assignments I just stopped playing altogether. I made a video of my some old footage yesterday and I sort of got the itch to play again. I noticed lots of B2K infantry only servers this morning, so its probably time to get back into it. I can take loopsided inf only games, but not against vehicles. That just pisses me off to no end. At least with BFBC2 the tracer, AT, and stationary AA was useful against vehicles. In BF3 you just get raped.

BC2 has a solid server browser....i have not had a kick or game crash in many months and in plenty of maps i have the lowest ping giving silky gameplay.

BF3's server browser appears to be fixed but i still get a occasional kick but not enough for it to be a problem.

Both systems are good.
