today's game as in July 1st? I thought the shows were taped way in advance. not like 2~3 hours in advance?

Because, for the intellectually superior, this type of pwnage is more satisfying. Regis is a nitwit.

I'm annoyed that this guy does not maximize his winnings. In final Jeopardy, he can safely wager a lot more than he is.

Frank Spangenberg would easily beat this guy.

If you don't recall, Frank is the NYC transit cop that absolutely blew everyone away. Frank was so solid that he won $150,00ish in 5 days back when the answers were worth 1/2 of what they are now.

Half way through the DJ round, both the other two players were in negative. I thought it might be just him and Alex in the final round today.

did anyone else notice in yesterdays episode the second place guy was out-buzzing ken on some of the easier questions?

does anyone else think it is possible that he has or had access to the question (errr answer) bank? you know it has to be digitized somewhere and he DOES have some comp skills considering he is a software engr. what if he got access, familiarized himself with lots of the answers and then went on the show? its like trivial pursuit, if you play a question set enough you will be able to answer most of them from memory. this would also explain how he gets most of his "guesses" correct - when he cocks his head and guesses inquisitively at the last second.

odds are he is just a damn good player, but then again, i cant resist a good conspiracy!

i wonder if the round where he eventually loses he does TERRIBLE. if so, then maybe they caught on and gave a completely new set of questions!

I would love it if he was cheating somehow. That would be great. If not, he's some kind of savant.

I'm pretty sure they write the questions as they go. Not like every show, but there is a staff of writers and they are constantly making new questions. I don't believe they use the same questions twice.

But, I suppose he could be getting in from the hotel the night before taping begins.

I don't think this is the case. He's a great player. He edits a national trivia magazine. It's his forte. Hats off to the dude. He's the best Jeopardy player we'll ever see on air.

After the 'Quiz Show' scandal, I doubt a long time national syndicated show like Jeopardy would repeat it.

Yeah i am pretty certain they dont recycle questions, but they cant wait until the week of the show to create them can they? there must be some pool of created questions out there. i also think he is a good player and not cheating... but its possible!

Actually I wonder this myself. Now that they let this guy go on for an extended period of time, if they
will let past 5-day winners challenge him.

what would be better than him cheating, would be JEOPARDY orchestrating the whole thing as a clandestine publicity stunt. leak the guy some of the questions in advance so he gets a huge win streak and attracts the attention of people like me who enjoy the show but probably would not otherwise watch it. thats a conspiracy :)

He won $102,000. He was good. A $20,000 average back in the day is certainly impressive.

But, Frank did loose first round of the masters tournament.

Just finished watching about 10 min ago. +1 post count for me, +40,000 dollars for him. Both 2nd and 3rd place contestants were at under 4k.

They probably don't have the machine with all the questions connected to the internet or even a network.

I watched Ken Jennings for the first time. He is very good. I wonder when Jeopardy will pull the plug on him .. or will they?
