This situation is starting to remind me of Lt. Thom Mckee who appeared on Tic-Tac-Dough for 46 shows many years ago, winning $312,700 (which was a lot of money at the time)!

This reminds me of a movie I saw a while ago about a game show with failing ratings. The producers fixed it so that one guy would keep on winning in order to attract viewers. Don't remember what happened in the end exactly.

There's a pic of him at www.jeopardy.com. I'll try to catch it tomorrow, but for some reason they show Jeopardy at 4:30 around here

Ken Jennings of Salt Lake City, Utah Soars Past Previous Records. Total Winnings To Date: $291,158

(CULVER CITY, CA) June 15, 2004 - On Jeopardy!, a Utah man continues to break records as the show's longest-running undefeated champion. With an impressive $291,158 already in the bank, Ken Jennings, 29, makes his tenth appearance on the show Tuesday, June 15. A revised rule change, introduced in the Fall of 2003, lifted Jeopardy!'s five-day win limit, allowing contestants the opportunity to continue amassing winnings as long as they remain victorious.

Jennings, a software engineer from Salt Lake City, graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Computer Science. He cites film and hiking as favorite pastimes outside of work. Jennings and his wife, Mindy, are the proud parents of a baby boy.

The previous Jeopardy! record holder, Tom Walsh of Washington D.C., won seven shows and earned $184,900 in January 2004.

They'd never let him on millionaire, he'd do too well on the screening process, and they'd drop him like a rock. In Jeopardy, the smarter you are, the more they like you, but for Millionaire, you can't be too smart, since the game needs to be dramatic.

Yeah, Millionaire is full of dimwits. I saw one where a guy burned all three of his lifelines by the $4k question.

Of course millionaire is full of dimwits. In only 20 questions you can have walked away with a million dollars. Ken would have the million by the 2nd commercial break

I think the first millionaire winner did that. He used his first lifeline and called his dad on the $1M question. "Hey dad, I don't really need your help. I just want to let you know I won the million dollars."

Yeah that guy is killing. He lives in a town about 20 minutes from my house and they had a huge article about him in the paper. I guess he has always been a trivia buff and watched Jeopardy and played Trivial Pursuit and other games since he was a kid.

Guy was amazing. I tuned in a couple minutes late yesterday. Wife says, "Who's winning?"

I reply, "Well, he's at $6,400 and the other two are a combined $-1,200."

I wish he would bet a bit more. He seems to like the $30,000 mark. I can understand in the beginning, but now that he's up $450K, go ahead and bet the max you can without loosing. I want to see a $50K or $60K pay day.
