Damn, that dude just won his 10th in a row, something like $350,000 total so far......

I thought they used to not be able to play for more than 7 days?

Yea, thats odd..... when will they put him on the backburner to round up 2 more finalists for a Championship night? I've watched Jeopardy for 4 years ... and now that I'm actually old enough to answer more than 40% of the questions(answers actually), I stop :p

as long as you win you still keep going, you still need 5 wins in a row to qualify for the tournament of champs

this dude is insane tho

ive been watching jeopardy for awhile...esp. this past week with that dude. just about every single game that he has won was a complete runaway! it makes me wonder whether they'll just let him keep winning or maybe throw in a "ringer" or something since one winner for too long cant be good.

on another note, is it just me or did the dollar values of the questions go up? i thought in the first round questions went from 100 to 500 and in the second round 200 - 1000. now its 200 -1000 and 400 - 2000. if it did change, all the records are skewed because the questions are worth omre now (i think way back when it was quite a rarity that ppl won more than 15K, but it happens all the time now)

Do the contestants that finish 2nd and 3rd get to keep all their winnings? At the end of one show, it seemed that Alex implied that they only get to take home $1,000 even though the person he was talking to was up $10K+. I know that if you are under $1K, you get to take home $1K. Are the rules even posted anywhere?

Second and third place winners get $2000 and $1000, respectively. That's the new rule. Back in the early 90's second and third place winners got prizes. My dad got a roll-up desk and a word processor for being second even though he earned around $25000 after final Jeopardy. Talk about heart break.

He has won over $350,000. He doesn't need any prize.

This can't be good? Are you kidding? We're talking about Jeopardy on a geek forum, when's the last time Jeopardy got this much press around here?:p And yes, the question values went up like a year or so ago.

Yes, they changed them a year or two ago. I read somewhere in the news that it was to gain more viewers, because they were losing some because of the higher prizes offered on other shows.

The fvck...this guy talks so damn fast. He should start moving his family to Culver City.

What does he do for a living? The last guy I saw with major ownage was a taxi cab driver and a bartender. He only lasted maybe 5-6 days though.

The show is recorded a few days/weeks in advance right?

He's a software engineer. :D

PS eelw, I also liked Alex's little quip: "We can't get rid of him" :p
