My brother found blood in his bathroom at the Luxor. Yuck. I stayed at the Palazzo, very nice.
Agreed; Palazzo is much better at cleaning up all the blood.

I've driven through both Las Vegas, NV and Las Vegas, NM several times and the one in New Mexico is quite a bit nicer than the one in Nevada. I've only spent one night in each and, again, the hotel in New Mexico was nicer than the Motel 6 in Nevada.
I'm glad I went and got to experience the ridiculous buffets there before this Coronavirus. Vegas buffets won't be the same for very long time.
Because that was on my bucket list. Vegas and buffets. I have no idea why you think you're above buffet food. Vegas have great restaurants but also great buffets. I satisfied my Vegas buffet curiosity. Lot of places have great restaurants but few places in the world have the ridiculous buffets like Vegas. But with Covid, crazy Vegas buffet is probably history so I'm glad I got to experience it in full glory before it went away.Honestly, I have no idea why anyone goes to Vegas and eats at a buffet. There are so many great restaurants in Las Vegas that I would rather try. Unless we are talking about breakfast I will never eat at a buffet anywhere.

When I was last there like 6 years ago, the buffets were like $45-$50 depending where you are. I'd much rather spend that on a meal at a regular restaurant, which is why they didn't interest me at all.Because they are (were) really cheap! (I assume the gambling profits subsidises the food?) Granted, I remember being apprehensive about the hygiene issue, but no bad consequences ensued.

I'm past the point when I eat where I just want to get as stuffed as possible too. Or where I want to get as much food for my money as possible. That is what I always heard people talking about the buffets how much they ate. Well good for you. I prefer to go to a nice restaurant where my portion size doesn't mean I take home a second meal in a doggy bag. I prefer to be able to clear my plate after sharing an appetizer with my wife and then have room for desert.

I did the buffet at the Borgata in Atlantic City during it's prime. So overrated.
Because I'm always disappointed in them when I've tried them. The only exception is breakfast/brunch buffets at certain places. And yeah, they're probably a thing of the past at least until we have a vaccine for Covid anyway.
As with most things in life, you get what you pay for.
I had an obsession about sailboats, sailing the oceans until I got a job on the docks working on them. I saw first hand the boats and the people who bought them (and sold them). It was disillusioning. It wasn't a good experience for someone who wanted to actually sail them. After a couple of years of that I happened to go to a boat show as part of my work and had a look at a Yamaha. That thing struck me as infinitely superior in terms of the aesthetics of construction compared to what I had been seeing. I had the impression that it wasn't particularly more expensive either. I was soon off the docks and into other things.I went a couple years ago for two nights with two friends of mine. I flew there from San Diego (about an hour flight), we stayed at the Venetian in a nice suite and split the cost three ways. We had two queen beds and a sofa sleeper. Cost me less than $1500 for the entire trip and I brought $300 to gamble with (lost it all of course). We ate out both nights at very nice restaurants, had breakfast in the casino and still it didn't go over the $1500. Not sure how you could buy a boat or install a pool for that kind of money.

Pools, well, I suppose they can be nice at times. An expense to build and then you have to keep them up. That wouldn't be as expensive as keeping up a boat, though! Boats have docking fees and they have to be kept up.
